Security and Employees' Compensation (EC) Programs in The Event of Death, Disability
Basically, the SSS provides for a replacement of income lost on account of the
aforementioned contingencies. The benefits under the Social Security Program are:
o Sickness
o Maternity
o Disability
o Retirement
o Death
o Funeral
SICKNESS
The sickness benefit is a daily cash allowance paid for the number of days a
member is unable to work due to sickness or injury.
2. He/She has paid at least three (3) months of contributions within the 12-month
period immediately before the semester of sickness or injury;
3. He/She has used up all current company sick leaves with pay; and
4. He/She has notified the ER, or directly the SSS, if separated from employment,
VM or SE regarding his/her sickness or injury.
The amount of sickness benefit per day is equivalent to ninety percent (90%)
of the members average daily salary credit (ADSC).
2. Count twelve (12) months backwards starting from the month immediately before
the semester of sickness.
3. Identify the six (6) highest MSCs within the 12-month period. Monthly salary
credit (MSC) means the compensation base for contributions and benefits related to
the total earnings for the month. The maximum covered earnings or compensation
is P16,000, effective January 1, 2014. Please refer to the following table:
