CEOs Survey on

Digital Transformation in 2017

Growth and digital transformation are top business priorities for
CEOs in 2017. According to the latest CEO survey by Gartner,
more than half of global CEOs say that digital improvements have
helped them increase the revenue of their organizations.

Below are some statistics deduced from Gartner survey of CEOs w.r.t digital
transformation in 2017:

56% CEOs say digital transformation has increased profits

of the 388 CEOs surveyed said they face pressure from


47% their board of directors to make progress in digital
business

CEOs say, growth is their No.1 business priority in 2017,


58% while product improvement and technology are also
rising in priority

CEOs said they define and measure their digital


33% revenue

CEOs are taking a "digital first" approach to


20% transformation, which may include efforts such as
creating a new business process, or a new mobile app

CEOs plan to build in-house technology and digital


57% capabilities, compared to the 29% who plan to
outsource it

CEOs are taking a "digital to the core" stance where the

22% product, service, and business model change with new


digital capabilities and the technology that supports
those becomes a core competency

In 2017, CEOs have a critical role to play in navigating various stages of


digital transformation journey. To maximize business success, CEOs and
CIOs should work together to scale up digital efforts.
