2. Respond to these questions.

1. Question: What are non-renewable energy sources?

Answer: Nonrenewable energy sources are sources that cannot be
replaced or energy that is not being replaced as fast as it is being used
2. Question: What are renewable energy sources?
Answer: Renewable energy sources come from natural sources such as
sunlight, wind, rain, tides, etc.
3. Write the definition of The Great Energy Hunt Technical Terms

Green Energy - Green Energy come from sources that are environmentally
friendly
Non-Renewable Energy that can't be replaced once it is used or isn't being
Energy - replaced as quickly as it is being used up.
Renewable Energy - Energy that comes from natural resources
Coal - A combustible black rock formed from plant remains that have
been compacted, hardened, chemically altered, metamorphosed
by heat and pressure over time.
Natural Gas - A gaseous mixture of hydrocarbon compounds
Petroleum Energy - Energy that comes from burning oil in turbines in to produce
extreme heat, which is used to create high-pressure steam. The
steam spins a turbine that push blades on a generator that
produces electricity.
Petroleum - Gasoline, diesel fuel, and propane
Propane (C3H8) - A normally gaseous straight-chain hydrocarbon
Biomass Plant matter and animal waste that can be harvested to create
bio-energy.
Ethanol (CH3-CH2OH) A clear, colorless, flammable oxygenated hydrocarbon.
-
Ethanol Produced chemically from ethylene, o rbiologically from
fermentation of various sugars from carbohydrates found in
agricultural crops and cellulosic residues from crops or wood.
Geothermal Energy A form of renewable energy derived from heat deep in the
earths crust
Hydroelectric Power A renewable energy source that produces the most electricity in
the United States.
Hydrogen The lightest of all gases, occurring chiefly in combination with
oxygen in water
Solar Energy The radiant energy of the sun, which can be converted into other
forms of energy, such as heat or electricity
Wind Energy - Kinetic energy present in wind motion that can be converted to
mechanical energy for driving pumps, mills, and electric power
generators.
