I am greatly interested in the position of Work Experience/Handicapped Teacher at Coon

Rapids High School. As a Q-Comp Peer Evaluator for the past 3 years, I have had the opportunity
to support special education teachers across multiple settings and I have cultivated numerous
professional skills. Combined with my background as a special education teacher, I hope to pursue
a position guiding students on their path into the world of employment. Thank you for taking the
time to consider my qualifications for this position.
My approach to education is student-centered and focused on outcomes over the long term
of their lives. My hope is to facilitate opportunities for students to capitalize on individual areas of
strength and develop compensatory skills to overcome obstacles. I am highly capable in
communicating and collaborating with all. My specific qualifications include:

Known as a persistently positive and supportive presence for students dedicated to the
goal of real-world, authentic success.

Consistent implementation of instructional best practices in order to effectively engage

all students in high levels of learning.

Well-founded belief in the development of self-determination in students through

guidance and instruction in specific skill areas to support their personal goals.

Teacher-leadership including facilitation of staff development opportunities in ENVoY,

Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies, Culturally Responsive Teaching, Questioning
and Discussion Techniques and curriculum-specific strategies.

Current enrollment in a Teacher Coordinator of Work-Based Learning licensure

program to further broaden my knowledge (completion date: 9/27/17).

I am strongly committed to the philosophy that all students can learn skills to increase
employability. It would be an honor to join the special education team at Coon Rapids High School.
