Teaching Experience:
Anoka-Hennepin ISD #11, Q-Comp Evaluator, 2014-Present
Provides support, evaluation and instructional coaching for a caseload of 60+ teachers in diverse settings
including K-12 special education (Federal Settings I-IV) and a work-based learning program. Collects
data through teacher observation to develop individualized personal growth plans based in improving
instructional practices and bolstering student achievement. Utilizes cognitive coaching to facilitate
reflection and promote inner resourcefulness. Facilitates training for staff on questioning and discussion
techniques as well as feedback and assessment strategies.

Augsburg College, Assistant Professor, 2016-Present


Serves as a teacher in the special education teacher preparatory program, instructing a class entitled
"Instructional and Behavioral Practices" at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Guides students
to identify and practice optimal pedagogical approaches for students while balancing the demands of the
case management role. Instructs on all aspects of due process for students with behavioral needs across
disability areas including emotional/behavior disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental
cognitive delay. Focuses on the importance of cultural responsiveness and relationship building.

Coon Rapids Middle School, Special Education Teacher, Multi-categorical, 2006-2014


Instructed multiple daily classes including social communication, functional skills and two literacy blocks.
Provided case management for diverse students with a variety of special needs. Served in a leadership role
on the culturally responsive teaching committee and consulted with teachers concerning best practices.
