David Beckham.

David Beckham is one of the greatest and iconic soccer players who ever lived.

He married a famous singer and fashion designer, together they formed Posh and Becks and

they formed a power celebrity couple. Beckham has accomplished loads of great things in the

Soccer world. Beckham is one of Britain's most iconic athletes. He was captain of the English

national team from 1998 to 2009, scored in three different FIFA World Cups, and played midfield

for clubs in Manchester, England, Madrid, Spain, and Milan, Italy.

David Beckhams background prepared him to take advantage of his natural talent for

Soccer, his family were very supportive of him following his dreams. He was Born on May 2,

1975, in Leytonstone, London, England, to parents Ted Beckham, an appliance repairman, and

his wife Sandra, a hair stylist (Beckham, David Encyclopedia). David Beckham was the

family's only son. A middle child between two sisters. Beckham grew up in a middle-class family

in the East end of London. with parents and siblings who were committed fans of Manchester

United, which was the first club that ended up signing him into professional soccer . At an Early

age, Beckham showed his own promise as a footballer, winning the coveted Bobby Charlton

Soccer Schools National Skills competition at 11 years old. His talent soon caught the notice of

Manchester United team officials, who asked him to try out for the club's youth league. By the

age of 16, Beckham had left home and was playing for United's training division. Two years later

he made the club, and by 1995, he was a full-time starter. When Beckham first joined United, he

joined an elite group of players known as the class of 92. This exquisite group of players

marked an iconic era for United. By working hard, and winning countless amounts of trophies,
this group of young men turned into legends of the game and inspired a generation.

Asides of his ability on the soccer field, Beckham was also so famous because of the

Media. The intoxicating combination of footballing success and striking good looks made him

irresistible to the tabloid press. The spotlight on Beckham grew in 1997 when he started dating

Victoria Adams, better known to audiences around the world as Posh Spice. At the height of

their popularity, Posh and her fellow Spice Girls were manna for the British press. ( Fidler).

Tieing the knot with his wife Victoria brought David into the limelight even more. This is why David

was so famous, the paparazzi literally covered everything Posh and Becks did together and the

british public couldnt get enough of them. All this attention turned David into a Global superstar. And

after winning countless awards with United, he left his childhood club to join Real Madrid, The

biggest Club in the world.

Playing for clubs of such high calibre like Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan and

PSG, Beckham was able to win countless awards and trophies, this is why Beckham was so

successful.He was voted Young Player of the Year. In the 199899 season Manchester won the

league title, the FA Cup, and the European Cup, and Beckham was named the Union of

European Football Associations (UEFA) Best Midfielder and the UEFA Club Footballer of the

Year. He went on to help Manchester win three more Premier League championships in 2000,

2001, and 2003. (Coombs). David Beckham has achieved so much greatness and success, he

has come a long way in life, far from his humble beginnings, he is a great inspiration to many

young aspiring footballers, his work ethic and die hard attitude has made him a one of a kind

player, and his name will always be remembered in the beautiful game
