To Whom It May Concern:

The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing
anything (Albert Einstein). My name is Kaciia Lesane I am a Sophomore student at Antelope High
School, and I am here to discuss the issue that has been going on in Syria for what seems like decades.
As the of the governor of the United States Of America it is your position to make the right decisions
not just for america alone but for other countries as well. As you may think that you are making the
right choice by keeping refugees out of the country, my reasoning below proves otherwise.

Since the year 2011 11 million people have fled Syria looking for places to find refuge and over
250,000 have died. Many Syrians have had to live in old, wet, and dilapidated tents just to escape a war
that they did not even cause. In Oprahs Interview with a Holocaust survivor she manages to make the
point that as Americans it is our indifference and arrogance that makes us feel that we are the center
of the universe. As an American I feel that yes we are arrogant, we are so worried about ourselves
that we do not see that other people in the world are struggling and in need of help. We feel as if we
should be scared of them when in reality America along with the Americans who live in it have
nothing to worry about. America does one out of the two things, we are either inflicting pain others
and acting innocent or sitting sideline while others are in need; like all the previous wars.

Refugees are still people If you bleed blue and he bleeds red what makes your life or his life more
valuable. I say nothing because you are both bleeding, If someone does not save you guys you are both
going to end up dead. Many people would say that the refugee crisis in World War 2 is similar to the
Syrian refugee crisis going on now. When they were trying to escape the cruelty of the nazi
government we labeled them as dangerous. How are they the dangerous one when they are being held
captive and begging for Americas help, but because at the time America was seen as the greatest
country we did not believe the lies that were happening overseas. It was the war that actually made
most of us realize that yes there are innocent people who need our help, and the other half still
ignored all the obvious signs and facts of what was happening. Because of that half dozens of fautless
people were killed, and then we were not worried about them. Similar to how we do not seem worried
about dozens more blameless life. If America is so great how come we coward down to what we do
not even know who or what is a threat yet. By being scared we are allowing other countries to feel like
they have some kind of power. (They aim to divide us) all because they see that you do not want their

people because you consider them a threat. Other countries (want us to see it in term of us vs them),
and we are giving then that satisfaction as of now. So why not relive both the innocent people and the
U.S government

To make things clear I disagree with the U.S government's decisions in deciding to keep refugees out.
America can afford to spend more time and money making a better security system to bring in
refugees, than just deciding to keep other people who deserve to live as much as you and me out of this
country. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I truly hope it influence your decisions
moving forward

Sincerely,
