times strictly, as staff is unable to look after campers outside these hours.
Campers must be pre-registered for Early Care and After Care. PAID
Early Care: $15/day | After Care: $30/day or $125/week
All campers must be picked up no later than 5:00 pm. Campers who
participate in After Care will be provided a small snack. Activities will
vary from games to small art projects and outdoor play. Parents who are
late to collect their campers at the end of the regular camp day will be
charged the After Care fee.

Financial Aid
Hyde Park Art Center offers a limited number of partial need-based
financial aid awards each summer. Applications are available at the Art
Hyde Pa rkART CENTER

Centers front desk or online at hydeparkart.org/classes/scholarships,

and are accepted on a rolling basis. Financial aid recipients will be notified
1 2 weeks after application submission. A $100 deposit is required at

Join us for a summer of memorable arts activities! No two
camp sessions are alike. All supplies are included. Each
day is action packed, so campers should bring a nutritious
bag lunch.

Age limits are firm and set for the safety and enjoyment of
campers and staff.
* Campers must be at least 4 years old and have previously attended a full-day school pro-
gram.
Visual arts
Campers will experiment with a range of materials and a
variety of artmaking techniques on a number of individual
and group projects. Topics will include painting, drawing,
ceramics, printmaking, mosaics, collage, bookbinding,
mask-making, fabric dyeing, and more.
Performance arts
Campers will explore creative movement, improvisation
games, vocalization, set design, creative writing, puppetry,
live and recorded performance techniques. Each camp ses-
sion will end with an original piece written, designed and
performed by the campers. Parents wont want to miss the
show!
Special Topics Camps Ages 10 & up

These one-week intensive studies in art are designed to
develop skills and explore concepts in a specific medium
or focus on a single theme. Back this summer, look for
our Get Inspired series in which campers work directly
with Art Center exhibiting artists to create original art-
work inspired by whats on view in our galleries!
Ceramics Studio June 12 June 16
Spend the week in our ceramics studio! Learn the entire
process of working with clay, from handbuilding and
throwing on the wheel to glazing and firing.
Clay and Ink June 19 23
Get inspired by the work of printmaker and ceramicist
Corinna Button, on view at the Art Center. Use both ceramics
and printmaking techniques, including learning to print
directly onto clay surfaces, to express your creative ideas.
My Presidential Library June 26 30
Get inspired by The Obama Presidential Library exhibition.
Using drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking and more,
design the objects and artifacts that would be held in your
own library, if you were the President of the United States.
Tooling Around July 3 7*
Get inspired by Resident Artist Sara Black while bulking up
your construction skills! Learn to use hand and power tools
to safely and skillfully craft both functional and sculptural
objects.
Filmmaking July 10 14
Write a script, shoot your story using video cameras,
digitally edit your video, and share the final product in
a public screening

From Drawing to Sculpture July 17 21
Create 2D drawings, then let them leap off the page as 3D
sculptures! Use clay, wire, wood and soft materials. Test for
sculptural strength and integrity. Play with composition and
scale.
Kinetic Sculpture July 24 28
Put your creativity into action! Create moving sculptures
using classic principles of simple machine lever, axle, gear,
pulley, and battery motor construction. Learn a wide variety
of overlapping techniques and styles to enhance your kinetic
creations.
Adventures in 3D July 31 August 4
This camp is a journey in 3 dimensions! Design and build
3-dimensional sculptures using clay, wood, wire, and more.
If you like to get your hands dirty, this camp is for you!
Darkroom Photo: Art + Science August 7 11
Discover the world through a new lens! Experience the magic
of darkroom photographyfrom shooting on a manual film
camera to the moment your image appears like a ghost on
the paper. Dust off your old 35mm camera, or borrow one
of ours!
Youth Arts Residency August 14 18
Get Inspired by the multidisciplinary artwork on display in
the group exhibition Front and Center. Meet the profession-
al artists and curators who put together the exhibition, and
create your own mini-collection of artwork in response to the
pieces that inspire you most.
Cartooning and Illustration August 21 25
Develop the skills to depict characters, landscapes,
movement, and comic-specific elements like spot blacks
and panel placement to bring your illustrations to life.
Comic Books August 28 September 1
Create your own comic book, zine, or mini graphic novel.
Learn to tell a great story through text and image, and use a
variety of bookmaking techniques to put it all together.
