Day and Night / Earth Rotation

Globe and Lamp Lab reflections:

1.) After doing the Globe and Lamp lab, what can you say about your
understanding of time, and why its not the same time everywhere?

Because the sun rotates on one side of the earth so then the other side of the planet is
facing the moon so then there its night.

2.) What were the three locations that were night when it was day in Hawaii?
A. Poland
B. Sweden
C. Turkey

3.) Does the east coast, west coast, or middle of America get sunrises first?
The East Coast

4.) Does the earth orbit the sun? Or does the sun orbit the earth?
The earth orbits around the sun while sun stays there.

5.) What would you identify as the variables in this experiment?

Independent: Timing of the sun.
Dependent: Earths rotation
Other control factors: One side is just sun one side is half moon half sun and one
side is just moon.
