Day and Night / Earth Rotation

Globe and Lamp Lab reflections:

1.) After doing the Globe and Lamp lab, what can you say about your
understanding of time, and why its not the same time everywhere?
They have different times because the earth rotates around the sun which gives
one side of the earth day and the other light.

2.) What were the three locations that were night when it was day in Hawaii?
A. Turkey
B.Paris
C.Thailand

3.) Does the east coast, west coast, or middle of America get sunrises first?
The east coast gets the sunrise first because when the earth rotates the sun is
shooting down and that is the first side that the sun hits is east.

4.) Does the earth orbit the sun? Or does the sun orbit the earth?
The earth orbits the sun, if it were the other way around we would burn.

5.) What would you identify as the variables in this experiment?

Independent:Location, time of sun
Dependent:Location of the sun, Location of light, Location of night time
