Day and Night / Earth Rotation

Globe and Lamp Lab reflections:

1.) After doing the Globe and Lamp lab, what can you say about your
understanding of time, and why its not the same time everywhere?
Its because the Sun isnt surrounding the Earth. Theres only one Sun and the other
side of the Earth is dark and the other side is Light because of the Sun. That's how
there are different times it's because there only One Sun and the Earth spins. Also the
Earth rotates around the Sun, that means everyone can get Morning and Night.

2.) What were the three locations that were night when it was day in Hawaii?
A. Korea, Asia
B. Kazakhstan, Asia
C. Africa

3.) Does the east coast, west coast, or middle of America get sunrises first?
It would be the East Coast because there is a proverb that says, Rise in the East and
Sets in the West. So remembering the proverb I instantly thought it was the East Coast

4.) Does the earth orbit the sun? Or does the sun orbit the earth?
The Sun is just in the middle of our solar system not even moving around in a circle.
The Earth however is spinning around the Sun so as the other planets like Mars,
Jupiter, or Saturn and other planets in our solar system.

5.) What would you identify as the variables in this experiment?

Independent: Timing of the sun.
Dependent: Leaving the Earth Globe alone without using a flashlight also known
as our Sun.
Other control factors: We could have more than one flashlight also as known
as the Sun. That will affect the Days and Nights for other Countries or Continents.
