SNGPL is the largest integrated gas company serving more than 2.

95 million
consumers in North Central Pakistan through an extensive network in Punjab and
NWFP. The Company has over 44 years of experience in operation and maintenance
of high pressure gas transmission and distribution systems. It has also expanded its
activities to undertake the planning, designing and construction of pipelines, both
for itself and other organization.

In SNGPL several activates done and different department done several


responsibilities but there we focus on two responsibilities which is new gas
connection and bill correction. For this purpose you visit regional offices, sub offices
and customer care center. Here we describe you one of the sub offices of SNGPL
located at 21 Industrial Area, Gurumangat Road, Gulberg III, Lahore. It is near to
Alfath store. When you go to visit that office you park your car on road side or other
vehicle park at the side wall of the office.

Front stage Activities

There are two guards outside of the office. One of the guards enters your
name for security purpose and second checks you with metal detector. When you
enter into the building there is a hall where receptionist set to guide you and refer
you to specific person. For New gas connection you go for the room number three
for residential meter for commercial meter you go to room number seven. In room
three people guide you about their documents which you needed.

Submission of Application
1) Fill in the prescribed application form and submit it in your regional office / sub office/ customer
services center nearest to your home.
2) A copy of CNIC
3) Proof of the title of property to ascertain size of plot (e.g. registry or some other legal document)
4) Gas bill of the neighbor nearest to your home.
5) Get a proper receipt in acknowledgement of your application. This receipt will be used for any
subsequent reference or query regarding your application.

House Line Survey

1) In the next phase, Companys representative will visit your premises on turn/merit basis to
prepare feasibility report for issuance of proposal letter.
2) House Line Plan will be designed at the time of site visit by the Companys representative(s), if it
is technically/operationally feasible to provide gas supply.

Proposal Letter / Demand Notice

1) A Proposal letter / Demand Notice will be issued along with House Line plan
and a list of Companys registered houseline installation contractors of your
region.
2) You have to arrange house line from any of the contractors as per prescribed
rates.

3) Security and service line charges will be calculated.

Gas Connection

1) Gas connection will be made available to you on "first come first served
basis".
2) Distribution Department will lay the pipe (service line if required) up to your
place of connection.
3) Distribution Department will install the meter and commission gas supply at
your premises.

First Bill

1) 1st bill shall be issued within 45 days of commissioning of gas supply.


2) If you do not receive the first bill after 45 days, contact your area regional
office.

If you need to correct your bill you go to the counter two where SNGPL
representative check your current meter reading and register it on the computer. If

Physical Evidence;

The physical look of the SNGPL is good. The building of SNGPL is newly made building and the inside
view of the building is quite impressive. Building is up-to-date from inside and outside as well. As we
enter in the building front side there are Reception on reception there are two person who are available
for us . right said of the reception there is sitting area for the customer .the hall of building is large and
enough space to arrange customer crowd at some time. Usually the buildings of the governments
departments are not so good but the SNGPL is the building which seems to be like government building..
Sitting area and other facilities are given by them to customers. Rooms are given to their employees for
the customer to accommodate . In room no 3 the issuance of the new residential meters. Room number 3
deals in the residential meters. for bill correction we go to the counter no 2 on that counter the person tells
what is the procedure for the correction of the Bill of customers. Environment of the SNGPL building is
alright mostly the environment of these departments are no good. But iam impress from the SNGPL
department.
