ROBOT BUILDING BASICS

1) Select the right hardware to do the job.

Dont use screws that are too long or too
short. Use either kep nuts or lock nuts
depending on the application.

LOCK NUT

2) Use the hole patterns on your hardware

to line up your parts properly. Check part
alignment before you start screwing parts
together.

3) Plan on making solid

connections. All connections on the
robot should have at least 2
SCREWS MINIMUM. Connections
should be at 90 or 45 angles

4) Set up your parts and make your connections so

that screw heads and nuts are easily accessible. This
make assembly and disassembly much easier. When
placing parts, remember: OPEN SIDE OUTSIDE

RIGHTY TIGHTY 5) When tightening and loosening screws and nuts,

remember: Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosey. Be sure to
use the correct tools and dont overtighten screws.
