The Relation of Patients Knowledge about Pre-Operation Information towards Anxiety Level
of Pre-operation patients in Udayana Hospital II Denpasar in 2017

ABSTRACT

Generally the action of surgery can cause tension, fear, emotional or behavioral disorders
which may affect surgery until the surgery is canceled. Pre-operation patients have the
potential to experience anxiety due to the lack of knowledge about pre-operation information.
This study aimed at identifying the relation between nursing supervision and nurses hand
washing compliance.

This study used correlational descriptive with cross sectional design with the number of sample
was 59 respondents using nonprobability sampling named consecutive sampling. Instrument
used to collect the data was questionnaire. Data was analyzed using Rank Spearman test.

The majority of patients knowledge about pre-operation information was in enough category
approximately 25 respondents (42,4%). The anxiety level of pre-operation patients which was
showed by 24 respondents (40,7%) was in mild category. The result of Rank Spearman
obtained that p value was 0,000<0,05, this result indicated that there was a relation of patients
knowledge about pre-operation information towards anxiety level of pre-operation patients in
Udayana Hospital II Denpasar. Correlation coefficient value was 0,893 meant that knowledge
variable with anxiety level variable had high relation degree.
