A PRODUCT REQUIREMENT
A1. Windows and Frames
1) Windows shall conform to AAMA-101 windows shall be provided with insulating
glass units, two part hermetically sealed, as per Project Specification. Required
sizes and dimensions of window units are shown on the drawings.
2) Window members and louver panels shall be extruded aluminium 6063-T5 alloy
or approved equivalent. All frames shall be carefully machined and fit to hairline
joinery, mechanically fastened in such a manner as to develop the strength of the
joined member or heli-arc welded on welded on unexposed surfaces. Watertight
joints shall be provided at all corners. All screws, fasteners and accessories shall
be noncorrosive materials compatible with Aluminum.
3) All sash shall be shall be carefully machined and fit to hairline joinery,
mechanically assembled with screws. Sash shall be equipped with adjustable
rollers and with appropriate glazing stops, ready to receive glazing. Watertight
joints shall be provided at all corners.
4) Main frame and sash members shall have a nominal thickness of not less than 300
mm (0.2) as per approved submittal no. ISFB-T AY-SA-01045. Minimum thickness
of glazing beads shall be 1.6 mm (1/16).
5) Typical mullion sizes 50 mm X 135 mm; window frame 80 mm X 105 mm
(casement fix) as per approved submittal no. ISFB-T AY-SA-01045.
6) Fabricate windows allowing for minimum clearances and shim spacing around
perimeter of assembly, yet enabling installation. Develop moisture holes with
moisture pattern to exterior.
7) Design shall include a method of weepage to exterior for condenssation or
leakage. Sills shall have a minimum of three (3) weep holes per section for the
transfer of condensation and leakage of exterior. Weep holes shall be a minimum
of 10 mm (3/8) diameter. Weep holes shall be baffled to prevent water entry
under negative pressure.
8) All window units and louver panels shall be weather-stripped. Weather strip
material (Plastic, Woven, or Metallic) shall be compatible with aluminium alloy
used for frames. Weather stripping shall be installed in retaining groves design as
an integral part of the aluminium section. Weather stripping shall be continuous
at corners.

type of protective material.
7) After installation, units shall be plumb, level and true to line without warp or
rack of frames, anchored securely in place.
8) Tolerances shall be:
a) Solid extrusions 0.16 mm;
b) Hollow extrusions 0.25 mm;
c) Overall size tolerances shall be with 1.6 mm for all dimensions up to
