2017 Summer Letter
2017 Summer Letter
An essential component of the South Holt Agricultural Education program is the development of
individual student Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs. These programs help
students:
develop planning skills
identify and acquire needed career skills
improve financial management and planning
explore career fields and opportunities
As part of my extended duties as the agriculture teacher, during the summer months I conduct SAE
visits with each student enrolled in the agricultural education program. As parents you are more than
welcome to attend these visits. During this visit, we'll discuss your son's/daughter's current career
goals, SAE plans, FFA involvement, and help identify additional opportunities for growth and skill
development.
The meeting will generally last about 30-45 minutes and can take place where students work or
house their SAE, at school, or really any location that pertains to the students SAE.
If you have questions about the SAE visit program, please feel free to contact me during business
hours on the school phone (660-446-3454). After business hours, you can reach me on my cell phone
(660-342-0495).
Additionally, I have attached a calendar that shows dates I am available for these visits (as well as
other scheduled FFA events). If they do not work with your students schedule, I am happy to
accommodate you as best as possible.
On the calendar you will see days designated as open shop days where students who have
successfully completed an Agriculture Mechanics safety test can work on or build projects during the
summer. These days are ideal for creating projects to be exhibited at the Missouri State Fair.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing you this
summer!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Aeschliman
