Kai Qi Chee is applying to Stanford Online High School for her junior and senior years of high school. She believes Stanford OHS is a good fit for her because she is a self-starter who loves to delve deeply into her work, is independent and excited to learn, and wants to connect with a global network of students. She has been an active participant in various extracurricular activities at her current international school in Shanghai. If admitted, she would like to attend Stanford OHS full-time and get involved in local community sports and bible study youth groups in the Bay Area to create a community for herself. Stanford OHS would allow her to pursue both local and international communities and help bridge the gap to collegiate

! Please tell us why you are a good fit for Stanford OHS. Then, please explain how Stanford OHS would fit into your plans for next year and beyond. ! This June, my family will be moving to California and I will begin my junior year of high school. I want to take the next step in my education and raise the bar for my last two years of high school in an environment that offers challenging and engaging academics in a global setting. For the past twelve years, I have been attending Concordia International School Shanghai, an international school with a diverse student body, rigorous academics, and plentiful extracurricular activities. I believe that Stanford OHS will be an exciting and mentally stimulating next step in the trajectory of my education; it will allow me to continue growing into my identities as a global citizen as well as a student who is passionate about her schooling. I believe I am a good fit for Stanford OHS because I am a detail-oriented self-starter who loves to delve deeply into her work. I am independent, excited to learn, and enthusiastic to connect with a global network of students. I am also open to new opportunities and want to take more risks! I believe that Stanford OHS will help me do that and more. In addition, I love to be involved in my community, and have been an active participant in Model United Nations, Global Leadership Summit, service trips, National Honor Society, and Track and Field. I am enthusiastic about Stanford OHSs vibrant extracurricular roster, and hope to share and expand the experiences that I have had as a Third Culture Kid. In terms of how Stanford OHS fits into my plans, if granted admission I would like to attend as a full-time student for my junior and senior years. Living in the Bay Area, I intend on joining a community sports team and bible study youth group to create a local community for myself. Stanford OHS will allow me to pursue both local and international communities and bridge the gap between high school and collegiate education; as much as I will miss my friends and school here in Shanghai, I am excited for the prospect of new challenges and classmates. ! ! !
