INTRODUCTION
(B) Objectives:
i. We will be able to find out the
settings of a story.
ii. We will be able to visualize the
setting and change it to Indian
scenario.
iii. We will be able to find out the
aspects of the Indian atmosphere,
culture, life and living.
iv. We will able to compare our own
setting with that of the other nations.
v. A feeling of Indianness will grow
among us.
(C) Resources:
Collection of writings of Leo Tolstoy.
(D) Limitations:
i. We are not acquainted with most of
the writers and their works. We have
only read Leo Tolstoys story.
ii. It needs more ti e than the alotted
time limit of six periods.
iii. A great deal of teachers help is
needed to select the writing.
METHODS AND
TECHNIQUES:
Introduction:
In this project, the whole task from selection
of the story to Indianization of the writing was
conducted following a time-bound routine.
Our teacher fixed up a schedule by breaking
up the task into day-wise activities.
First Day:
On the first day, I
i. Read throughly the story some short
stories of Leo Tolstoy.
ii. Selected Leo Tolstoys short story- Three
Questions.
iii. Our teacher told us about Indianness,
different aspects of Indian society and
culture, atmosphere and nature.
iv. The story was read aloud to its end.
Second Day:
On the second day,
i. Each student started to change his story
in a way that it looked typically Indian.
ii. Facing some difficulties I consulted with
teachers.
Third Day:
On the third day,
i. Each student drafted their Indian version
of the story.
ii. Each student read their final manuscript.
iii. Each student photocopied and
distributed drafts of their manuscript
among others for suggestion.
iv. Each student graded other manuscripts,
on a grade scale of A to D.
Fourth Day:
On the fourth day,
i. I write the final manuscript.
ii. I read out the manuscript.
Fifth Day:
On the fifth day,
i. A photocopy of the final manuscript
given for review.
ii. Each student discussed among
themselves and made a draft of the
review.
iii. Each student read out their reviews.
