Unit 5 assignment 1

This is the assignment brief for Unit 54 assignment 2, which was the graphics for the
posters. Looking at the brief it shows the different criterias that need to be met. I have
made sure that for my report I cover the range and illustrate.

Here is a client meeting which we did before we started the assignment and the reason why
we did this is that it helps define what the client wants from the assignment. The client
wants to have an a3 poster up to a high standard and use the logo, which will be
incorporated into it. For this assignment I made sure I met the requirements which were set
by the client. I created a CD cover logo and poster, which was up to a high standard the
client. I also made sure the documentation was high quality to match the assets. The
assignment brief states that the poster should be the correct size, which is a3, and I made
sure I did this by setting the size in Photoshop to the default a3 size.
Proposal
Proposal
In this proposal, I will be writing about a new band that I have created which is called the
pixels and I will create all of the promotional material. The band will be playing typically
around the Manchester based area. This individual task is about creating a proposal, which
describes, develops and establishes what concepts, formats, dimension layouts, content,
formats and images I would agree to be suitable within the album art and poster, which
meets the brief/scenario.
The storyboards consisted of creating a front cover, back cover, logo and tour poster and
these were out drafts that we had to create and I think it came out the way that it should
have compared my Photoshop file. The only other documentation we had to keep is a digital
diary to show the whole process that we have completed every day that shows what we
created in-between those sessions and this was basically made to be a tutorial so that
someone who sees my graphic will be able to create it off of my diary, this also helped me
keep to schedule the only other documentation was some research and a proposal that we
did to introduce into the unit. In addition, the other documentation is this evaluation.

Concepts
For the concepts of the assignment, I need to distinguish what sort of band the pixels will be
and what material I should create for it. I have decided to make the band an indie/ rock
band and the reason why is because I think it will be unique. I need to make a CD cover and
a poster, which will relate to this genre. The kind of theme of the band is quite similar to
oasis. I have done this because Oasis are my favourite band and I know the style of their
music is very popular.
Oasis signed to independent record label Creation Records in 1993 and released their
record-setting debut album Definitely Maybe (1994). The following year the band recorded
(What is the Story) Morning Glory? (1995) with drummer, Alan White, formerly of Starclub,
in the midst of a chart rivalry with Britpop peers Blur. Along with Suede, Pulp and Blur, Oasis
came to be regarded as a component of the Britpop "big four and the Gallagher brothers
were featured regularly in tabloid newspapers for their sibling disputes and wild lifestyles. In
1997, Oasis released their third album, Be Here Now (1997), and although it became the
fastest-selling album in UK chart history, the album's popularity tapered off quickly, but not
before selling 8 million copies. McGuigan and Arthurs left Oasis in 1999 as the band went on
to record and release Standing on the Shoulder of Giants (2000).
My band will be somewhat similar to oasis however, I will not copy their songs or any of
their material I will make sure that the work I produce and material is original.

Select format
Before starting this proposal, I looked at the different ideas for the format, which will be on
my album cover, and last year I did a similar assignment and created a band called pixels,
which means I already have some graphics I can use. The logo for my band is quite simple
but I do think that it fits its purpose. As you can see, the band is in the background of the
logo and I have added the text, which is the bands name so it makes it clear to the
audience. The colour scheme for the brand album and logo is black grey white and light
blue. I think that the

Content
For the content, it is very important that the content be up to standard because this is the
base of the project. All of the assets I provide must be good quality to ensure that the
project runs smoothly. My band is the same sort of genre and content as the famous band
Oasis and this is the core I will base my project on. The discography of the English rock band
Oasis consists of seven studio albums, one live album, five compilation albums, six video
albums, one extended play, twenty-nine singles, nineteen promotional singles and thirty-six
music videos. The band have sold an estimated 77 million records worldwide which makes
them one of the highest selling music artists of all time and have also been cited by Guinness
World Records as the most successful act in the United Kingdom between the years 1995
and 2005. Oasis was formed in 1991 by vocalist Liam Gallagher, guitarist Paul "Bonehead"
Arthurs, bassist Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan and drummer Tony McCarroll they were later
joined by guitarist and songwriter Noel Gallagher. The band signed to Creation Records in
May 1993 and released their debut single "Supersonic" the following year; it peaked at
number 31 in the United Kingdom.

I will ensure the content is not copyrighted in anyway because this is my own project and I
should create all of the assets on my own without copying any of other assets from bands
however, I am going to get inspiration. This is why my logo is similar to the Oasis logo
because I have took inspiration from the logo and created it into my own logo.

Consideration of audience
For the project, it is very important that the audience be taken into consideration because
the content is targeted towards them so I need to ensure that all assets and other formats
are towards the audience. The target audience is 18+ and I have decided this because some
lyrics in some songs from the bands album may contain curse words so I need to make sure
that the audience is suitable. This is the same with Oasis some of the lyrics contain
inappropriate words that might not be suitable for kids so there target audience is quite
high but many teens listen to their music.
If I do not target the audience correctly, it could make the band not successful so I do need
to make sure that all of the assets and songs are targeted towards my age range. The usage
of the audience will be also important because I will need to define the audience. The songs
I personally think are targeted towards the audience genre however, I have made the assets
towards the audience as well and there might be a possibility of a brand to be made just like
the lead singer of Oasis Liam Gallagher has his own label brand.
Layout Design
The layout design is very important to the project because I need to consider what content I
will put on the assets and the different dimensions. For the CD it is vital that I have the
dimensions correct because when printing the design I will need it to fit on the CD cover.
The finished dimensions for the outside of printed CD covers are 4.724 inches square. Many
printed designs include bleed. The "bleed area" is an extra 1/8" of space for design elements
or backgrounds to extend beyond the finished size of your piece. A CD cover with bleeds is
printed slightly oversized (4.974 inches square) and then cut down to size, giving the
appearance that the printing "bleeds" off the edge of the cover rather than having a white
border.
The finished dimensions for the inlay card are not square to accommodate the fold needed
to make the spine.

Input and manipulation of images

Creating my graphics and assets are vital to the project and I need to make sure I have them
at high quality and take my time making the assets. I will be creating my graphics in the
software Photoshop and the reason why I am using this program is because I have
experience with the program and I think it is very easy to create my assets in the software. I
will be creating a logo and an album cover so I do need to make sure that all of my assets
are the correct dimensions. I have already created a logo in a previous assignment so I do
not need to create a new one however I could adjust the logo and make it more relatable to
the band but I do think that the current logo I have is high quality and good enough.

In the logo, I have the band featured into the background and I have done this because this
makes it more appealing to the audience and it shows what the band looks like.

Selection of style and tone

The selection of style for the band is unique I personally think. The band songs are indie/
rock style, which has been used before, but I feel that the band will have their own identity
and make it original. The assets are also unique because I have not seen the logo and the
storyboards I have created. The colour scheme of the whole theme for the style is light blue
grey and black. The reason why I have chosen this colour scheme is that I think it is
aesthetically pleasing to view and the colours stand out so when the album is out it will
stand out from the rest on the shelves in the music stores.
For the project, the style of the assets and band will make the band successful because if the
style is not good and not unique it will not be popular within the viewers and public. I need
to make sure that everything I do and create is my own personal creation so I do not copy
any other band out there.
Considerations of limitations and advantages of format
Limitations for this project may be a problem but I will make sure for the deadline I
complete the project. The limitations could be that the software I will use could fail and
corrupt my project however; I need to make sure that I save my work every 10 minutes to
ensure I do not lose any of the work. I have also made sure that my work is up to standard
and saved different copied in formats so it can be accessed easily.
The different formats I will be saving my work on depends on the program. For Photoshop I
have made sure that I keep the original file so I can go back and edit it and I will have
exported it as a PNG, which is an image file. This file will allow me to import the image in
different software programs.

Deadline schedule
The deadline for this assignment is Tuesday so I do need to make sure that everything is
finished by then and up to a high standard. I have made sure that I spend my time wisely
throughout the assignment and I have done this by creating an ILP. The ILP is a word
document which shows the different things Ive done in the sessions so after a session I
write up what I did that lesson so when I come back and I can see what I did the previous
lesson.
Every assignment I do I make sure I try to meet the deadline which is required however for
the first lesson I was ill so I need to make time so I can meet the deadline.
Below are the scans of the 3 assets which are the logo poster and cd cover. They are all
taken on a camera then imported into my proposal. I made sure that the images were high
quality so that the client can see the sketch properly.
LOGO

CD COVER

Above is the proposal for the assignment 54 assignment 2 and it covers all the different
ranges for the client and I talk about the designs I made on Photoshop and sketch. Part of
the assignment was to make sure that the graphics were the correct size and I did this.

CD Cover dimensions

I looked at the different dimensions to make sure the finish product is the right size.
Photoshop did help me do this because they have different default sizes for documents.

Time management
Part of the assignment is to make sure that the time management is used and we always
have an ILP, which shows how much time I have on the assignment and the different
sections of the report that need to be done on that certain day. Here is a ILP which has been
used for this assignment.
As you can see the deadline is quite close to the start date so each lesson is shows In the
box and every day I write what I did that lesson so then the next lesson I can go back to see
what I did the previous lesson which helps keep track on where I am up to on the
assignment.
This assignment is unit 78 assignment 2

Looking at the assignment brief is states generate a concept of ideas computer games.
There is a big range as well to cover so for the range I do need to cover it with illustration
examples.
There is also a legal and ethical document that I used from another assignment and then I
adapted it to suit this assignment.
The reason why I created a legal and ethical is because in the assignment the client needs to
make sure that the project I finish will not offend anyone for example by racism or sexism
and I do this on every assignment because if a media product is offensive it will not be
successful.

|Time management
There is also an ILP, which I used throughout this assignment and I made sure I used my
time wisely to meet the deadline and I did this as you can see.

The use of time management really helps me complete the assignment because when I did
something that day I can write up in the ILP so the next day I can see what I did the previous
lesson which really helps me knowing what I that lesson.
For this ILP it was the full unit so as you can see the red is the different days and the yellow
highlight is to show when the deadline is and the reason why its highlighted is because I
need to know when the deadline is before working on the project.
Proposal
For this assignment I did a big proposal about the posters and how the Photoshop tools
word and the different names for the tools.
Character

Thumbnail sketching

When drawing my character, I did not do any thumbnail sketching to get an idea of what the
character will look like because I had a rough idea already of what type of character I will be drawing
so I did not do any rough sketching as you can see the lines are very straight and there is no
sketching involved in the character. However, I do know that if I did some sketching it could benefit
the drawing because I could easily erase the sketching.

Visual Style

The visual style of the character in my first person shooter is quite normal for a shooting game
character however I have included different parts of the character for example the gadgets and
pockets on the soldiers clothing. The visuals for the character are very different to any other games
because the colours are unique to any other first person shooter games. The main colours for the
character is green, black and purple. I have chosen this because I think that the colours are very
vibrant and are also attractive to the players. The character for the game features other objects not
just the actual soldier. The weaponry is along with the characters so for the guns I have
implemented a camo selection for the player so they can choose what colour the gun will be. On the
sketch the gun is black however it can change.

Composition

For the character I include composition to create the drawing. I did this by selecting sections for the
gun and where the head and legs will be on the drawing. This helped me because I knew the
proportion for the character in the drawing which made it a lot easier to draw. On the character
there is different sections which are colored in so I made sure the right sections were the correct
colour. For example, the gun is a different section from the character however I have made sure its
included in the drawing with the character.

Photorealistic

Photorealism is a genre of art that encompasses painting, drawing and other graphic media,
in which an artist studies a photograph and then attempts to reproduce the image as
realistically as possible in another medium. In my character I have tried to create the
character realistic as possible because the characters in my game are realistic so therefore I
wanted to make the drawing the same as the one in the game.
Typography

For the character I did not include any text in the drawing however in the other drawings for
example the posters I made sure that I included with different types of fonts and boldness to reach
out to the buyer.

Technical considerations
For my game the file format will be a PNG for the images and for the game I will ensure that the file
format is available on DVDs and other formats. This is a file which will enable the user to play the
game on DVD and other platforms. All of the images and assets will be stored in a folder so I can
make sure that I am managing my assets. For the drawings I will export them onto a drive by
photocopying them and re designing them in Photoshop to actual create a graphic.

Here is the final drawing of the character

The file format of the character will be a PNG because I think that the PNG is

DVD Cover

Thumbnail sketching

When drawing the DVD cover I looked at the different games that are already out to get an idea of
what I should include at the front of the cover and back. I sketched out a template for the DVD cover
so I knew what parts of the DVD cover should be drawn which made it a lot easier for me to do. For
example on the back of the cover there was information on what platforms the game will be
featured on and also the age rating for the game. After this I decided to look for an image of a
soldier in which I could get an idea of what imagery I should have on the cover so I decided to use
one of my characters on the front page. In which I sketched it out using different parts of the soldier.

Visual style

The visual style of the dvd cover is the most important part because the cover needs to look
attractive towards the audience because its what the buy first looks for so I decided to include a
range of colours to it. The front cover showed the title of the game and also a quote of one of the
game magazines. The background was a "washy" green. I decided to do this because it represents
the army and with the soldier being in the front cover I think that it goes well with that.

At the back of the cover it featured the different platforms and also the slogan of the game. I also
used the same background colour to the one on the front because I wanted to keep the theme
throughout the cover. Also I used pictures in the cover which showed the different multiplayer maps
in the game

Composition

For the cover I definitely used composition to help me balance the cover so I knew what the
different parts to the DVD. I used a template from google to get inspiration for the cover and
followed the same layout. At the bottom there was a rage rating which showed the age the game
should be played at and this is the same with every other DVD or game. Also he top on both parts of
the covers show the platform of the game and other details.
Typography

For this cover I did use typography and I used it differently in each sections. For example, the front cover
shows bold text which is larger than any other text in the dvd cover. I did this because I wanted it to jump out
at the audience and for them to know what the game is called. The font will be quite simple however I will
make sure that the font is professional so it attracts people. At the bottom of the cover I have information in
text which shows what platform the video game will be playable on and also an age rating which shows what
age the game should be played at. I also have quotes from magazines and gaming experts which have
reviewed the game and ive quoted them into the cover.

Today, most console and PC games are shipped in (CD) jewel cases or (DVD) keep cases, with little
differences between them. The packaging for these games are very important because thats the
first impression when a person picks up the game. For my game I will ensure that the packaging is
unique and original so it will engage the person to buying the product. Normally games come in the
same packaging as other games so it is easier for people to know what sort of games there is and
also it is labelled for what different console the game is on for example on the side of a PS4 game it
will show the PS4 logo and name.

Technical considerations

The format for my DVD cover will be a PNG. A file with the PNG file extension is a Portable Network Graphics
file. The format uses lossless compression and is generally considered the replacement to the GIF image
format. Also the size of the file will be around about 1,000 MB because I will have a lot of graphics on the
image so therefore it will be a lot more than a normal graphic. I will also make sure that I include naming
conventions to help me manage my assets.

Optimising involves increasing the efficiency or general performance of something, in terms of

graphics it involves creating a just balance so the quality of the image and the file size are reasonable
enough, this however is usually only done through optimising certain factors. Optimising my DVD
cover will be important because if the file size is relative small it will benefit the software when
working on it.

Output

The target destination is the destination where I wish the graphic to be located on my network, in
order to do this you need to be certain of the folder you intend to save all of the graphics, By doing
this it will save your work in a specific destination for you to come back to next time.

If I want to get the best image possible, I should be aiming for the best image output. Depending on
your t.v. the best image output will vary. But if you have a HD TV the best possible setting is 1080P.

Name conventions

Naming my folders will be a big part of the asset management because I will need to ensure that the
folders are kept in the right order and the correct names.

Here is some ideas on how to name folders

Keep file and folder names short, but meaningful.

Avoid unnecessary repetition and redundant words in file names and file paths.
Use capital letters to delimit words, not spaces.
When including a number in a file name always give it as a two-digit number rather than
one, i.e. 01, 02 99, unless it is a year or another number with more than two digits.

Here is the final design of my dvd cover.

Here is my final drawing of the DVD cover

Legal and ethical

I will make sure that the DVD cover is original because if it is copied by another DVD I could be sued for
copyright infringement so I will need to make sure that any assets in the DVD cover is created by myself. Also
any images that might be offensive to people I will need to get rid of because I do not want to include any
inappropriate content in the DVD.

Here is a list of ethical rights I should not offend

- You arent allowed to use a picture, video or sound unless the person who has full control of
the assets give you permission to use them.
- You cant make a written statement of someone which could offend them and any abusive
language which could affect their reputation.
- You arent allowed to use anyones piece of work without permission (copyright law)
- You have to be careful that you dont offend someone this goes by
- Race
- Gender (female and male)
- Sexuality (homosexual and heterosexual)
- Disability
- Nationality
- Class ( higher class or lower class)
- Age ( adults and children)

A3 poster

Thumbnail sketching

For my poster I did use thumbnail sketching because I knew that the poster will be quite big so therefore if I
sketched the poster design I could easily rub out any mistakes I did. I made sure that the sketching was quite
define so I could go over the sketch to create the actual drawing. I also marked what parts of the drawing
should be colored in so I knew the different sections of the drawing needed to be done. I designed a
background which I got the idea from a battlefield which I sketched so I got the idea before I finalized it.

I also drew the characters which will be featured in the game for my poster and I used the sketching to do the
outline of the character.

Visual Style

The visual style of the poster is quite full of colors because the poster is to catch the eye of the audience so
therefore I wanted it to be very vibrant with colors and to make it look professional as well. A relative
measure of image intensity could be how bright (mean pixel intensity) the image appears compared
to another image. Brightness is the visual perception of reflected light. Increased brightness refers to
an image's increased luminance. I want my poster to have a lot of intensity to make it stand out from
all the rest of the other posters because I want mine to be the center of attention. The colours used
in the poster are red, green and black. I think these colours work well with the poster because the
contrast between these colours are quite similar so therefore I think that the poster will look
professional if the colours are matching and look suitable.

Typography

For my a3 poster I used typography because text is a big part in the selling point of the game and I
think that having it in the poster is very important because big text and a bold font stands out to the
audience rather than any other text which may be hard to read from a distance.

I used a big font in the poster because I think it will catch someones eye and the purpose of this is to
attract them. I made sure that the font and size was very suitable for the poster.
Also I used the coming soon text which shows that the game will be out soon. I used a very big
font for this because I wanted the people to know that the game will be out soon so they were
aware of when the game will be released.

Composition

In the visual arts, composition is the placement or arrangement of visual elements or ingredients in a
work of art, as distinct from the subject. It can also be thought of as the organization of the elements
of art according to the principles of art.

To compose the poster, I made sure I included all of the information on parts where I needed to
focus on. At the top of the page I added the title of the game which is the force and also at the
bottom of the page the text saying coming soon.

Technical considerations

The file format for my poster will be a PSD because I will be creating the poster in photoshop
however, i will export the file into a PNG file which will show the actual image instead of the file. The
size of the poster is 297 x 420 mm so I will need to make sure I create the poster for this size. Also
the resolution will be 200 because I want it to have a high quality image so it will look professional.

Optimising involves increasing the efficiency or general performance of something, in terms of

graphics it involves creating a just balance so the quality of the image and the file size are reasonable
enough, this however is usually only done through optimising certain factors. Optimising my poster
cover will be important because if the file size is relative small it will benefit the software when
working on it. Also I will need to make sure that the file size when compressing it will not loose the
quality of the poster.

The target destination is the destination where I wish the graphic to be located on my network, in
order to do this you need to be certain of the folder you intend to save all of the graphics, By doing
this it will save your work in a specific destination for you to come back to next time.

Here is the final design of the poster

Background

Thumbnail sketching

When drawing the background, I looked at the different games that are already out to get an idea of
what I should include on the background and the different sketched they have. I sketched out a
sample of the background to get an idea of what the background may look like. I also sketched out
the tree in the background because the tree will be very easy to draw.

Visual style

The visual style of the background is the most important part because the background needs to look
attractive towards the audience because its what the buy first looks for so I decided to include a
range of colors to it. The different aesthetics in the background need to look pleasing for people to
view because the background is the core of the game so I will need to try and make it look
professional. The more colors for the background the more it will gain attention and engage with the
person.

Typography
There is no typography on my background.

Composition

Composition is also very important because I will need to ensure everything on my background is all
viewable and I do no leave any objects out of the background. In the visual arts, composition is the
placement or arrangement of visual elements or ingredients in a work of art, as distinct from the
subject. I will need to make sure I add all the elements in the background so that the background will
be visibly pleasing.

Technical considerations

For my background I will be creating it in Photoshop so the file size will be a psd once its in creation
however when its completed I will export the file as a JPEG. The file size will be about 200mb
because it contains a lot of graphics in it for example all the scenery and the rest of the assets in the
background.

Optimising involves increasing the efficiency or general performance of something, in terms of

graphics it involves creating a just balance so the quality of the image and the file size are reasonable
enough, this however is usually only done through optimising certain factors.

Here is the final design on the background

Copyright law originated in the United Kingdom from a concept of common law; the Statute of Anne
1709. It became statutory with the passing of the Copyright Act 1911. The current act is the
Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. The laws were implemented to make sure people who
created some kind of work and prevent people from stealing your work to benefit themselves.

Before this law was an act people could copy someones work and claim that the work was from
them. This was a big problem to companys so they decided to have this act mainly on the web due
to it is open to the world and it is easier to steal work from the web such as images, videos and
music. These assets are included in my product so this is why I need to consider where I get my
assets from. The copyright law protects the IT industry because mainly copyrighting takes place on
the web.

Assets

Videos are popular target for copyright. Videos online such as YouTube are sometimes copyrighted
so no one can use their video for beneficial purposes. The person who creates a video (the
creator), such as somebody who records the video, will generally be the owner of the original
copyright. However, if it was created as part of the creators job, the employer will generally own the
copyright. Videos on the internet may have the copyrighted symbol in front of the image to prevent
anyone using it however some videos dont. The copyright symbol does not have to be present for
copyright to exist, so just because there is no name or copyright symbol associated with a photo or
video does not mean the copyright has expired. If you want to gain permission to use the video you
will need to contact the owner who is the creator of the video and sort an agreement. Most of the
time the agreement is through paying for the video however you may not have to pay. They might
ask you to instead of gaining full copyright of the video you could just get permission to use it. This is
the same with other assets such as images

Software can be a copyright problem too. If you buy a software package legally which allows you to
use the software for yourself this means that you do not own that software. The software company
allows you to use it but only for yourself so you cannot claim the product to be yours or illegally
transfer the software to someone else. Also some websites offer instructions on softwares which
are required to be bought. These websites provide crack codes to allow users all over the world to
use the software for free and this is illegal. Each software usually contains a license to that individual
computer. If the software is on a disk therefore it can only be used for one computer machine.
However, people burn the software onto another disk and give the software to another person. This
is illegal and would need to buy another license in order to use it again. This law is the same with
schools where each computer must have a different license.

In order I do not break any laws or offend anyone I need to make sure I do not get all my images
from a copyrighted source and I do not copy anyones work without permission. If I want an image
or video I need to contact the owner and ask them for permission before using it in my product.

Ethical

When creating a multimedia product you need to ensure that you make the assets included in the
product suitable for the target audience. For example if the target audience were kids you will need
to ensure that anything you put in the product that wont offend the users. Also this protects such as
racist comments which will offend people and affect the product. This will always be breaking the
law and could cause a lot of problems. People may be most likely to break the law on the internet
because people may think that theyre anonymous. But you can be tracked and found so everything
needs to be considered before publishing to the world. There is rules that can help you to avoid is.

Race Relations Act 1976

The race relations act is a legislation that makes sure we respect that discrimination on any racial
grounds is wrong.

The effect this has on radio and television:

They need to make sure that they don't discriminate against any type of race or religion. Radio needs
to be very careful about the people they hire as most programs will be live and if any racial
accusations are caused they have no way of stopping it. Television has been recently making
television shows which have a person of dark skin tone as the main character which shows a fairer
approach to this law. An example of this is BBC three's teenage program 'Some Girls' which has a
black main girl character and one of her friends is a Sikh.

Privacy Law

Privacy Law is a law which deals with the use of peoples personal information and making sure they
aren't intruded upon. These laws make sure people can't have their information wrongly used
without permission.

The effect this has on radio:

This means that they can't tell the listeners peoples full names or any private details they don't want
revealed. For example, if a viewer calls in but they don't want their name to be revealed then they
can't say it.

The effect this has on television:

This is also basically the same as radio, they can't use peoples full names without their consent. This
also means that if they take footage of someone they need to get that persons permission before
they air it on television.

Copyright and Intellectual Property Law

The Copyright law protects things that are owned by a certain person. This makes sure that no one
else can take credit for someones work or you can't use something without getting permission first.

The effect this has on radio:

They can't play certain music without getting permission from the people that created it.

The effect this has on television:

They can't play music or show clips without getting permission from the people that created it.

Libel Law
The Libel law is a law which states that someone can't give out false information about someone
that could potentially cause them harm. Such as writing a quote that someone said when they didn't
actually say that, or portraying someone in a negative way when that wasn't what happened.

On my product I made sure that I did not breach any of the above. I made sure that the product was
suitable for anyone for example different races and made sure any content on my product wouldnt
offend anyone. I did this by not using images and any video content that are copyrighted so I will not
break any laws. Also not using anyones work this includes any assets or design of the product.
Another way I did not break any ethical rules is that I made sure that the text in my product didnt
have any abusive language and made sure it is suitable for my target audience.

Looking at the proposal you can see that I tried to explain each heading that it will be relatable for
the assignment for example the heading visual style.
Visual style

The visual style of the background is the most important part because the background needs to look attractive
towards the audience because its what the buy first looks for so I decided to include a range of colors to it.
The different aesthetics in the background need to look pleasing for people to view because the background is
the core of the game so I will need to try and make it look professional. The more colors for the background Commented [SFBP1]:
the more it will gain attention and engage with the person.

As you can see I am talking about the different aspects of my assets and how the visual style will be suitable
for the client. I talk about the background of the game and how it has a big impact.

After this I also talked about the technical considerations which means what I have to
consider before creating the game.
Technical considerations

The format for my DVD cover will be a PNG. A file with the PNG file extension is a Portable Network Graphics file. The
format uses lossless compression and is generally considered the replacement to the GIF image format. Also the size of the
file will be around about 1,000 MB because I will have a lot of graphics on the image so therefore it will be a lot more than
a normal graphic. I will also make sure that I include naming conventions to help me manage my assets.

Optimising involves increasing the efficiency or general performance of something, in terms of graphics it
involves creating a just balance so the quality of the image and the file size are reasonable enough, this
however is usually only done through optimising certain factors. Optimising my DVD cover will be important
because if the file size is relative small it will benefit the software when working on it.

I talk about the file type that the game will be on and the images for example the PNG file.
The file size is very important because it could affect how the game is ran smoothly.

Legal and ethical is so important to this assignment and I have made sure that I do
everything correct to the brief for example going through different aspects of the game. I
have made sure that the game doesnt offend anyone that shows the different ethical
considerations. These are the following guidelines that I need to consider.
- You arent allowed to use a picture, video or sound unless the person who has full
control of the assets give you permission to use them.
- You cant make a written statement of someone which could offend them and any
abusive language which could affect their reputation.
- You arent allowed to use anyones piece of work without permission (copyright law)
- You have to be careful that you dont offend someone this goes by
- Race
- Gender (female and male)
- Sexuality (homosexual and heterosexual)
- Disability
- Nationality
- Class ( higher class or lower class)
Age ( adults and children

Time management
Part of the assignment is to make sure that the time management is used and we always
have an ILP, which shows how much time I have on the assignment and the different
sections of the report that need to be done on that certain day. Here is a ILP which has been
used for this assignment.

As you can see the deadline is quite close to the start date so each lesson is shows In the
box and every day I write what I did that lesson so then the next lesson I can go back to see
what I did the previous lesson which helps keep track on where I am up to on the
assignment.
