Table 2.1

Long time ago, part time job was appeared as one kind of
job. Just like full time job, part time job has employer,
employee and many things. But the different between
them is the time for working part time job is shorter than
the time working full time job. And another things that full
time job always require people to have a certificate of
university or college to get the job, or experience about
that job before. But almost part time job do not require
that things, people can ask for part time job without
certificate and experience, because part time job is often
an easy job such as, seller, waiter. So that, many students
of university and college decide to do part time job while
they are still studying to take more money, and to get the
experience. And now a day, it is very easy to find out that
many students of National Economics University do part
time job. Therefore, we decided to conduct this research
Doing part time job bring students many benefits.
The figure1.1 illustrates the type of work that N.E.U
students interested in. As we can see from the chart,
most of the students were asked want to work as tutor
(34 percents). The percentage of those who interested in
being waiter and bartender are pretty close to each other
(29 and 24 percents respectively). The remain 13
percents of interviewees give other answers such as
librarian, salesman, accountant, etc. From the result of
figure 1.1, we can conclude that most students want to
work as tutor since it is closely related to what they've
learned over the years and it is not a hard work so it has
the least negative effects on their educations. The 2nd
and 3rd graphs show the amount of expense and the
expect income from the part-time job of N.E.U students. If
we pay attention, it is not very hard to see that the two
figures are relevant to each other. Because students want
to find part-time jobs to cover all their expenses, they
expect the salary to be at least equal to or better yet,
higher than their expenditure. Almost half of the students
,who were asked, only spend less than 2mil monthly, so
as a result, 42% of students interviewed expect to be
paid only 1-2mil per month (enough to spend in 1 month).
Only 1% of interviewed participants have to spend more
than 3mil so they expect to find a job that offers over
3.5mil, and that, in our own opinion is not an easy task.
The final graph shows the number of days that students
find suitable for them to work weekly. Since the
interviewees are students, they do not want work to
interfere with their studies so most of them only willing to
work 2-3 days or 3-4 days a week (39 and 34 percents
respectively). And only 6% of the students comfortable
with working 6 days a week or all week (both occupy only
3 out of 100) To conclude, after receiving the result of the
survey we made to ask the N.E.U students, we found out
that students chose their job pretty carefully so as not to
affect badly on their main mission, studying. In addition,
the jobs that they chose to work as we can see not only
help them to cover their own expenses but also help
them to develop their social skills and experience in real
life.
