Reflection for Ethnographic Essay

The ethnographic essay was one of the most difficult essays I did. I had a tutor help me

with revising the essay, but all she told me is to fix the organization and include quote

sandwiches in each paragraph. She also told to put each topic sentences on body paragraphs to

support the thesis on the first paragraph. I did what she told me to do but the only thing I

couldnt do much is add some quote sandwiches. I only described the Swap Meet and it hardly

had any scholarly sources about the history of the flea markets or about it.

I fixed the organization on the essay because they were misplaced and slightly confusing.

I took out one of the paragraphs that talked about the same topic of the economy of the Swap

Meet. I also added another source of where I got the history or the origin of flea marketing. The

scholarly sources were difficult to find because when I search about the Swap Meet or Flea

Markets, the results shows me catalog pages of what they sell or the nearest Flea Market in the

area.

This essay was only difficult because their were only bits of research to talk about and I

had no choice but to describe them instead of quoting most of them to make it into a quote

sandwich. Though, I did enjoy my observation around the indoor Swap meet because it gave lots

of ideas to talk about.
