Assessment Task 2: Design Technologies Project-based site

Task Requirements
Participants are to design and develop an original project-based assessment task, based on
the Design Technologies Curriculum. Your assessment task and marking guidelines must be
underpinned by the project-based learning theories addressed during lectures and tutorials.
The assessment task will be presented as a website, and should be a minimum of six web
pages:

1. A welcome page This page will serve as an introduction and will describe the purpose
of the site; why you have created the content being housed. Welcome your students to
your site and tell them a little bit about why you have created the site and what type of
information they will be able to find here.
2. Problem Statement A real-world scenario needs to be presented that describes the
nature and scope of the problem.

3. Assessment Task Include year level, topic, outcomes, submission instructions, etc.
4. Marking rubric
5. Activities include three activities (questions students should be asking, hyperlinks to
resources for students to read, activities such as graphing data, etc.) that will guide
students to produce a well-considered judgment, to support their solution to the
problem
6. Student sample response Include an exemplary student sample response to the
problem statement.
The Project-based site will need to include the following

The project is appropriate for the age, interests and real world experiences of the
identified year level
The Project Outline provides a scaffold to support learning through the design,
produce and evaluate steps of the project
The marking rubric clearly differentiates the levels of achievement of the marking
criteria
The resources will support students to complete the project
The site displays a creative and well-designed GUI that engages the audience
Use of appropriate language and correct grammar and spelling Note: See appendix
