When providing coverage the following will, at a minimum, need to be considered:

1. Are the limits provided sufficient to cover the insureds higher valued
items?
2. Does the insured have any unique pieces that would require any damage to
immediately cause the piece to be 100% loss?
a. Will any items require approval of an artist or foundation?
b. Are there any extremely fragile items easily susceptible to 100%
damage?
c. Is the genre or type of work susceptible to loss in value due to
conservation?
3. Does the insured and/or broker have qualified conservation specialists they
work with?
a. Is that specialist qualified to work on the specific type of art or artistic
medium?
b. Will the conservator provide a detailed treatment proposal which
describes:
i. Existing problems which will be address by conservation
ii. Procedures and methods which will be used
iii. Potential problems and proposed outcomes.
c. Have the conservation or restoration been approved by the artist or
foundation?
d. Are they accredited by a recognized institution?
4. Have accurate condition reports been create for the object in question? Does
the report address all pre existing damage?
5. Are the pre-loss and post-loss values for the work accurate?
6. Will conservation provide a reduced loss in value?
