Bucknell, Benjamin Leland AND JUDICIAL FINDINGS
(DOB 04/27/1995)

Being sworn on oath I state: I am a peace officer. I have either direct knowledge of the events reported below
or derivative knowledge from ofcial police reports or the statements of other peace ofcers who, themselves,
have direct knowledge of the events. The offense occurred in Benton County.

Offenses: Attempted Murder x 3 (ORS 163.115), Assault I x 3 (ORS 163.185), Assault II X 2 (ORS 163.175),
Arson I (ORS 164.325) Burglary I (ORS 164.225), Unlawful Use of a Weapon x 4 (ORS 166.220) Resisting
Arrest (ORS 162.315), and Criminal Mischief II (ORS 164.354).

Brief Narrative:

On or about 05/22/ 17 at approximately at 0554 hours Benjamin Bucknell(4-27-95) went to 413 NW 27th Street.
Bucknell poured gasoline on the ground outside of the residence and lit the gasoline and house on re. A
resident, Nadav Mouallem, reported the re entered the downstairs portion of the residence and caught the
sleeping bag he was sleeping in on re. Bucknell was reported to have been wearing a bandana over his face
and a hooded shirt prior to entering the residence.

Bucknell then entered the residence and attacked both Catherine Lisman and Dan Rinkevich with a knife.
Lisman and Rinkevich were sleeping together in a bedroom when attacked. Both Lisman and Rinkevich
suffered multiple serious stab wounds to the head and shoulder area as well as both have skull fractures from
the attack. Both Lisman and Rinkevich underwent emergency surgery at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical
Center.

Bucknell left the room where Lisman and Rinkevich were sleeping and confronted another tenant, Jesus
Valencia. Valencia was stabbed in the left side of his head and has lost the ability to see from his left eye. The
damage to the left eye is signicant enough that it is anticipated Valencia will lose the eye. Valencia was life-
ighted from the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland,
Oregon for further care.

Bucknell confronted another tenant inside of the residence, Nolan Batuso. Bucknell attacked Batuso with the
knife in his hand in a stabbing motion. Bucknell hit Batuso in the face with his hand and knife causing a cut to
the face of Batuso. Bucknell then attacked roommate, Evan Burns, with the knife and caused cuts to Burns
torso and nose.

Bucknell broke a window out of the residence and then crawled out of the broken window. Bucknell was seen
by a passerby, who is known to police, as he was crawling from the window. The passerby followed Bucknell
and requested another person contact the police to tell the police where Bucknell was hiding. Bucknell
attempted to remove his blood soaked clothing prior to contact with the police. Bucknell was located by
ofcers in the parking lot of the Corvallis Senior Center, 2601 NW Tyler Ave. Bucknell fought with ofcers
and refused to obey commands to be taken into custody.

Bucknell had injuries t0 his hands consistent with having cut himself while attempting to stab another person.
Bucknell also had scrape injuries consistent with having crawled out of a broken glass window.
