I am interested in the Recreational Therapy position you have available. Currently I am a
senior at the University of Utah pursuing my BS in Parks, Recreation and Tourism with a
Therapeutic Recreation emphasis. I am completing my internship at Primary Childrens
Hospital, Wasatch Canyons Campus and feel that this experience has made me a well-
rounded and prepared recreational therapist.

I have had experience working in a hospital in an inpatient setting, mostly working with
adults with neurological injuries. I am looking for a job that allows me to grow in a new
experience along with applying the skills and knowledge gained from previous
experiences. Through my volunteer work and internship I discovered that I really enjoy
working with kids, I like the challenge of keeping their focus on treatment while
simultaneously allowing them to play. My experiences working with behavioral and
physical disabilities with both adults and children have given me more experience than
your average college graduate. I am confident that my quick learning, adaptability and
passion would make me a great RT in your facility.
