Within ones lifetime, we are always evolving. This is an article, telling

about John Legends solo album, Love in the Future. Although Legend

stayed true to his roots when designing the album, the music also shows how

Legend has progressed as a musician.

Although I already admired John Legend for his musical talent, after

reading this article I gained more respect for him not only as a musician, but

also as a person. Legend respects the soul musicians that came before him,

like Ray Charles, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, and Sam Cooke. He also

realizes that it is important to work with others, in order to grow as a

musician. Over 25 producers contributed to the album. This shows that

Legend does not let his ego and success stop him from learning from others.

Some of the people he collaborated with on this album are Kimbra, James

Fauntleroy II, Kanye West, and David Tozer.

Legend says that two of his most important influences are Marvin

Gaye, and Stevie Wonder. He says he got a lot of inspiration from their music

for his new album. Legends new album will be similar to the styles of his first
two albums but more polished and experienced. Legend clearly values the

children of this generation and their education. He supports many charities

and organizations for multiple things, including education. So its important to

Legend that he can introduce people to soul music. Legend talks about how

this generation is raised on rap and pop music and how he wants to combine

these types of music into something soulful.
