Declaration of Intent issued by the Conference of Finance Ministers of Muslim Countries held in Jeddah in 1393H (1973). a. Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) IRTI was established in 1401H (1981) as the research and training arm of IDB. It plays an important role in the transformation of IDB Group into a world-class knowledge based organization by leading and sustaining the development of a dynamic and comprehensive Islamic Financial Services Industry (IFSI) to support the socio-economic development of member countries. As a center of excellence, IRTI conducts training, undertakes research, provides advisory services, and enhances capacity building in basic and applied Islamic economics and finance.
