TRYOUTS FOR THE M22s for the Fall 2017 Spring 2018 calendar year will be held on June 19 at

Hancock Field (Leland MI) from 6 8 PM.

The M22s are select soccer teams that play in area tournaments and in occasional friendly games with
other area teams. The M22 select soccer program is designed to provide an affordable, less travel-
intensive option for players seeking a more competitive soccer environment in addition to our area-
based recreational soccer program.

The tryout format is mandated by the state for select teams. It can sound intimidating. We have strived
hard to make sure all players who have a passion for soccer get an opportunity to play. If you are
interested in select opportunities, please, come to the tryout if nothing else as a fun couple of hours of
soccer for the kids. The tryout is open to U8 (2010 birthyear) through U14 (2004 birth year) boys and
girls.

In order to be considered for the M22s all players must either attend the June 19 tryout or provide
written notice prior to the tryout date of your interest and inability to attend (email
admin@lcscsoccer.org).

The M22s have the option to play both as a select tournament team in area tournaments AND (at no
additional charge) participate in the recreational soccer program. Players who will be trying out for the
M22s SHOULD NOT register separately for recreational soccer until after tryouts.

Alternate Tryout
If you cannot attend the June 19 tryout the alternate tryout date for fall participation will be held June
3rd at Miles Kimmerly (i.e. during the Romp N Stomp). In order to be considered for the June 3 alternate
date , you must submit in writing (email admin@lcscsoccer.org) a request for consideration on the
alternate date. The June 3 tryout will be held as follows:

If your player is playing on a recreational soccer team, your player will be evaluated during game
play at the Romp N Stomp. Please provide in your written request information for your players
game schedule at the Romp N Stomp so coaches can go and observe.
If your child is not currently on a recreational team that will be participating at the Romp N
Stomp your player can still participate in the alternate tryout date. There will be a special
alternate tryout session held at 1-2 PM at Myles Kimmerly Park (U9 Field #3) during the Romp N
Stomp for interested players who are not playing for a recreational team.

Spring Only M22 Opportunities

While the M22s is a full year team, there will be an opportunity to expand rosters in the spring. This
opportunity will be based partly on commitment and performance expressed at the June 19 try
out. Spring-only registrants will be limited based on available space and will be subject to a special,
second tryout in October/November 2017 (to be announced). In order to plan for the spring, M22
teams need to understand commitments for spring during the fall season. Failure to provide notice of
interest by the June 19 tryout could impact your players ability to participate as an M22 in the spring.

For 2004 players the M22 opportunity will be spring only boys and girls teams. Interested players must
attend the June 19 try out (or submit request for alternate tryout in writing). This spring only team
must be planned in advance. Tournament registrations for spring are now taking place in the fall!
