#38 PHILLIP STUEBE

You are fortunate to have the chart from the Illiana Genealogical Society, but if you try
to get in any patriotic society, such as DAR, they wont accept it as proof, since the data
is undocumented and the author unidentified. It would be wonderful if the Society has
an address somewhere for ? Myers, who may at some point have been a member.
Many organizations keep names/addresses of persons who donate material.

Footnote 3: I am confused about this footnote. How does it prove the marriage of
Phillip and Mary? It appears to prove the marriage of their son John. If it doesnt prove
the marriage of Phillip and Mary, it should not be used here, but only in Johns part of
the report instead.

Footnote 9: This short paragraph on Gottfried Lorenz, son in law of Phillip Stuebe,
really is unnecessary in Phillips file.

I would list the children of Phillip and Mary Stuebe chronologically. You list them that
way at the end of this file and in general, it is best to do so, unless you want to place the
child you descend from at the very last, since you usually have the most information
about that child.

Regarding the childrens descriptions. You list their death dates, but in each case,
what is the source of the death record? For example, Frederick Christian Stuebes
wife Frederica has a birth date of 1847 and a death date of 1908. There is no footnote
for these dates or for Fredericks. The next footnote is for Civil War records. The
same problem exists with John Stuebe, Mary Stuebe, etc. What are the sources for
the birth and/or death dates for the children of Phillip Stuebe?

As a matter of organization and consistency in your narrative, I would place the little
paragraph regarding the Danville Directory for 1889 at the very end of the narrative.
This source takes place toward the end of their lives and you discuss their death dates
in the same paragraph. It would make a nice closure. As it is now placed, it is rather lost
in the narrative. In fact, I missed it altogether in my first reading.

Those are really great 1880 census reports, chock full of information!

Your narrative gives Mary Koch a death date of April 10, 1883. The chart shows 10
August 1888. Which is correct?
