She has consistently been an integral part of the classroom community whenever she is in my room to help support BLL students. I always appreciate that Nanci comes into the room and immediately begins building a rapport with the students from day one. She asks students lots of questions about their life, siblings, interests, and then remembers that information and continues to ask students questions throughout the year related to their answers. She will even bring in small items such as a bookmark, stickers, or book for students, because she knows it is something they might like. Nanci talks often about the students she is working with and tries to make sure she is meeting all of their learning styles. She will enhance student work with tasks that span between kinesthetic learning to spatial or auditory. I am always impressed with how much Nanci thinks about the students she is working with when she is not at school, as she consistently tries to find ways to entich their learning experiences in the classroom. Nanci definitely goes above and beyond in her caring about her students. One nice thing, among many, about Nanci, is that she is quite remarkable at making each student feel like they are special and what they say or think has validity and is valued by her and the test of the students in the group. She has even kept me informed of students who were in my class previously and lets me know about their successes as they get older. I appreciate hearing how well previous students are doing, and that she remembers who was in my class several years ago. Thave learned a lot from watching Nanci interact with students. Her caring and understanding about the students she works with has impacted how I interact with students too. I am so << that I have the privilege of working with her.
