Desires:
Slim- to fit into pockets and other areas that you can hold pens.
Simple- a simple clean look so its not distracting or unbalanced in your hand.
No Cap- do not want to worry about losing the cap of a pen.
Light- the pen should just be hardly noticeable in your hand. You shouldnt feel like
youre holding a weight.
Silent- then pen should not be distracting to others if you want to play with the pen
Evaluation:
Match of Design: The pen matches spot on with my design.
Ergonomics: The pen is slim, simple, silent, and dont have a cap.
Craftsmanship: The pen took me three days to make. Day one I spent the majority of the
time taking much of the wood off the block of wood to thin it down so I can start working
the wood. Day two, I spent my time sanding the pen and making it smooth. Then I
applied three layers of super glue. Day three was assembly day. I put the pieces to my
pen together. To make the pen, you needed a block of wood and a pen kit. You also need
a lathe to spin the wood. To carve the wood you need the lathe tools. The kit cost $2.00.
I worked about 4.5 hours, and at minimum wage that is $32.63. The total cost is $34.63.
The end product is smooth and clear of marks.
