S: If we teach boys/men to express their emotions as oppose to suppressing them, we will end

not only the fear of femininity but also the derogatory phrase 'like a girl'.
P: In one video we watched teenage boys were asked what emotions they hide. Their answers
were pain, sadness and some even said anger. In the other video people were told to
demonstrate actions 'like a girl'. They over exaggerated the actions to look dumb and what the
media portrays as girly.
E: The fear of femininity causes men to suppress their emotions to look more masculine. If we
teach boys that they shouldn't be scared of their emotions therefore their femininity -because
apparently showing emotions is girly- then 'like a girl' wont be an insult. Boys wont be bothered
by the phrase and maybe will even stop using it since they have embraced their emotions and
their flaws. No longer will they use their fear of femininity to bring each other down as they will
understand their is nothing wrong with it.
S: When people realize their is no need to be ashamed of their flaws and emotions, there will be
no need to bring each other down for them. It wont register to them that doing something 'like a
girl' is something to feel embarrassed about.
