Genetic engineering is a branch of biotechnology where an organisms genome is directly

manipulated. It is true that genetic engineering is criticized as playing God but it does not
mean that it is against the law of nature. Most genetic modified organisms are selected and
manipulated for our own purposes. Our current variety of animals and plants has little
resemblance to the original stock of nature because their genome was selected and
manipulated for our own purposes (foods, domestic pets and commercial purposes).
