Watch Out!
Use the contraction s in spoken English.
Ex. My names Andrew. My name is Andrew.
Explanation: We use contraction if we want to shorten one or two words.
Contraction uses an apostrophe ().
Ex: Shes a Korean student. Shell take IELTS exam next month.

Answers: I would say I am friendly, happy and funny. I am friendly because I love meeting new friends and talking
with them. I can also describe myself as funny and happy because I can make people laugh easily using my jokes
and antics. And whenever I make them laugh, I am happy.
8. Listen to three people describing someone in their family. Write the personality adjectives that each speaker
uses.

9. Listen again. Complete the gaps with the words you hear. Use the audio script on page 89 to check your
answers.
Speaker 1: She looks like her sister. Theyve both got curly hair.
Speaker 2: I dont have any brothers or sisters. Im an only child.
Speaker 3: But their son is really funny! Hes my favorite cousin.
10. Describe someone in your family. Use personality adjectives and include extra information.
Answer: My sisters name is Leonora. She is my older sister. She is sweet because she always brings me food when
she is home from work. She always makes me laugh because of her jokes. She is friendly so whenever she is having
a party, a lot of people come.

a total of atleast 3-4 sentences.
