Maintenance Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION

The supervisor serves as a focal point of all machining operations within the company and
requires coordination of work with other departmental supervisors, machinists, sub-contractors,
engineering and management. The supervisors primary responsibility is to manage the shops
resources, workflow and workload. The individual must be highly motivated, organized and able
to work closely with superiors, peers and subordinates.
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES

Provides direction, training, guidance, and assistance to employees; coordinates daily


work activities; organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; monitors status of work, inspects
completed work, and troubleshoots problem situations; responds to employee
problems/concerns.
Assists in scheduling and coordinating work activities
Completes service/work orders
Coordinates and monitors work performed by outside service providers
Maintains inventory of department equipment, parts, tires, tools, and supplies; ensures
availability of adequate materials to conduct work activities; initiates requests for
new/replacement materials
Follows safety procedures, utilizes safety equipment, and monitors work environment to
ensure safety of employees and other individuals; reports accidents and incidents.
Maintains equipment service records, warranty records, or other documentation of work
activities.
Receives various forms, reports, correspondence, time sheets, checklists, work requests,
maintenance records, oil sample graphs, parts manuals, service manuals, diagrams,
schematics, specifications, technical bulletins, reference materials, manuals, or other
documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate.
Communicates with supervisor, employees, other departments, vendor/suppliers, the
public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of
work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
Recommend capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment or property in order to
increase efficiency and services of maintenance department

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Possess excellent listening and communication skills

Must be able to multitask and prioritize effectively without making mistakes

Must be able to work in high pressure environment


High level of emotional maturity and calmness to handle the stress associated with the
position well

Experience in a leadership position

Computer literacy and MS proficiency
