Madam Cj Walker was a phenomenal At the age of 14 she escaped
woman.She faced many obstacles to mistreatment she endured at the hands
succeed and fulfill her dreams.Madam of her brother in law when she married
Cj Walker wasnt her real name to a man named Moses McWilliams.

Madam CJ Walker was an innovator who invented hair products, she also one of the
wealthiest African American women, and also she was political and social activist.
She became a commission agent selling products for Annie Turnbo Malone. She
developed knowledge on hair products and caring for hair, soon she had her own hair
line.Her and her daughter moved to denver, colorado where she continued to sell
Malone and developed her own hair care business. Following Her marriage she became
Madam CJ Walker and marketed herself as an independent hairdresser and retailer of
cosmetic creams. She sold her hair door to door teaching african americans women how
to treat and style their hair.
She ended up hiring other women to train and show them the "The Walker System" her
steps of brushing that was designed to start hair growth and to condition the scalp
through the use of her products.From 1911 and 1919 during the rise of her career , her
company employed several thousand women as sales agents for its products.
Her wealth was only $600,000 ( approximately 8million in present day ).
She became more involved in politics matter once she moved to New York. She gave
lectures on political, economic, and social issues at conventions sponsored by powerful
black institutions.In 1917 she joined NY chapter of NAACP.the silent protest parade
public more than 8,000 African Americans to protest a riot in East Saint Louis that killed
39 African Americans.
She died May 25 1919 but she made so much difference in the world. She made herself
proud and Im pretty sure if her parents were alive she wouldve most definitely made
them proud as well. To keep success running her daughter became the president of her
company.
