FUSELAGE SECTIONS 13/14 IDENTIFICATION PLACARDS.

1. REASON

Some A330 and A340 aircraft have been found to have placards that were
not always correct for the following service panels/points :

Forward potable water drain panel (A330/A340 AMM 38-14-00,

figure 009, page 19), located between FR28 and FR29.

Air data system static drain (A330/A340 AMM 12-24-34, figure

301, page 302), located at FR26.

Air extraction from E/E compartment (A330/A340 AMM 21-26-57,

figure 401, page 403), located between FR24 and FR25.

See attached illustrations, pages 3 to 8.

The forward potable water drain panel, which should be labelled 133BL,
sometimes appeared labelled 133AL ; the air data system static drain, which
should be labelled 133AL, sometimes appeared to be unlabelled ; and the air
extraction from E/E compartment appeared labelled 133AL in some cases.

This incorrect labelling may create some confusion while identifying the
concerned items during maintenance actions.

2. RECOMMENDATIONS

Action has been taken within Airbus lndustrie to ensure that the correct
placards are installed in the correct position prior to aircraft delivery. This
action is effective for MSN 039, 040, 057, 060, 062 and subsequent.

It is recommended to check that the placards 133AL and 133BL are

installed at the correct position on in-service A330 and A340 aircraft. If any
discrepancies are found, it is recommended to change the placards such
that they appear in accordance with drawing F11210039 (see attached
extracts from the drawing, page 9).
