Company Culture: clean and welcoming. Our employees would dress casual (jeans, company t-
shirt or sweatshirt)
Atmosphere: Our employees would create this atmosphere with their energetic and friendly
personalities. We would have high/positive moral as well. The layout of our building would also
be open and welcoming to the dogs and their owners. We would also offer a fenced in yard for
the dogs to play/train in. We would offer a break room for the staff as well.
Employee Needs/Enjoy working for us: To accommodate our employees needs we would offer
three full time employees and the rest will be part time. We will allow employees to bring their
personal dogs in free. Employees will want to work for us because we offer flexible hours
(vacation time). Working with dogs can be therapeutic and walking/hiking with the dogs can offer
health benefits.
1. Our ways of attracting recruits from outside the organization is through advertisements
for job openings would be posted on our organization's website, our facebook page,
craigslist ads, newspaper ads, and flyers.
2. For possible replacement within the organization we will offer our current employees an
opportunity to apply for open positions first before opening/posting the position to the
public.
3. When looking to hire employees we look for certain qualifications:
o Must have High School Diploma or GED
o Must be at least 18 years of age
o Must be able to lift 50lbs
o Good written & verbal communication skills
o The ability to stand on one's feet for continuous hours
4. To increase the diversity within our organization we will hire employees due to
education and qualifications. We will offer employment to ages 18 and older, to all
genders, and all ethnicities.
4. To make people aware of our job opening we would make newspaper ads and pay for
them to be in local newspapers so that people could call and ask us more about it.
Another way that we would display the job opening is through our facebook page. We
chose to do an ad in a newspaper because it is cost effective and a lot of people buy
their local newspapers. In addition to the newspaper ad we would also post our ad on
Craigs List, Facebook, and 7 Days. We are going to put the newspaper ad in the Stowe
Reporter, Waterbury Record and News & Citizen. We chose these newspapers because
they are all local and within 30 minutes of where we are located. We chose to post our
jobs on Craigs List because it is free and not all people read the newspaper. We are
going to also post this ad on our Facebook page because social media is a big part of
marketing and a lot of people use it. Lastly we chose to post our advertisements on 7
Days because it is based out of Burlington and that is fairly local.
A high school diploma or equivalent is all you need to get started. Groomers are trained
on site.
Certification is a plus
