Speak local language AND English (all instructions will be spoken
in English)
Read local language AND English (all instructions will be written
in English)
All registration staff must be familiar with Microsoft Windows
version 8 or 10
Staff can be men or women
Attire/Appearance Black slacks
o No Jeans
Short or long sleeve White shirt (can be nice t-shirt, collared
shirt, or blouse)
An Event T- shirt will be provided for all staff to be worn over a
white shirt.
Comfortable Black shoes
o Nice, clean black tennis shoes are acceptable for
Wayfinding and Room Monitors.
o NO high-heel shoes, as there is a lot of standing and
walking
Driving Transportation directions are available on the facility here
Directions/Parking Parking is NOT paid for by the event.
Meals A box lunch WILL be provided on both event days.
Snacks, water and drinks will be provided on both event days
Staff are not to eat or drink at the evening reception on day 1
Storage of There will be no secure storage for personal items. It is
personal items recommended that nothing be brought to the event that is of
value.
No large back-packs, or large purses should be brought into the
event space

The same persons need to fulfill the same positions on both
days; positions shall not be shared among different persons.
POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

Registration Staff

Arrive onsite in a timely manner and be ready at scheduled time


Attend training meeting and be attentive
Read through all training materials provided by Event Core.
Registration Staff are the first people our attendees will meet, thus they must be
welcoming, friendly and helpful
Ask for help and clarification if they dont understand
Know how to fulfill each position in the registration area in case they are moved to a
different position
Assist with clean-up, inventory, and packing of event supplies as needed

Badge Scanners/Room Monitors (between 8-14 depending upon city)

Scan the badge of EVERY attendee that enters the assigned session room
For overcrowded rooms, deny entrance to specific sessions, and provide direction on
where other sessions are being held
Once the session has begun, close the session room door
Find assistance for the session speaker if they are looking for technical support (there will
be a tech in each hallway)
Know the schedule and the facility well enough that you can give proper directions
Act as a human arrow to direct attendees to the various event activities, registration,
meeting rooms, meals, restrooms etc.
Count the number of people in each session room 15 minutes into the session, and again
at 45 minutes. Write these numbers down on the provided sheets.

Keynote Ushering/Way-Finding

Act as a human arrow to direct attendees to the various event activities, registration,
meeting rooms, meals, restrooms etc.
Know the schedule and the facility well enough that you can give proper directions
As needed, assist with door monitoring. For overcrowded rooms, they may need to deny
entrance to specific sessions, and provide direction on where other sessions are being
held
Assist with ushering during first session of the day in the keynote room.

Office 365 Kiosk Staff

Invite attendees to take a 10-minute quiz on a touch screen monitor


Reset the monitor if a quiz is not finished
No product knowledge is required
A friendly and outgoing personality is the most important requirement

General Conduct of all Staff

Greet everyone with a smile when within 10 feet


o Greet customers with a smile and appropriate salutation (Example: Good
morning, Welcome, Enjoy the program, How can I help you, Thank you for
coming, etc.)
Cell phone is only to be used for receiving directions from the Staffing Manager
o Using a cell phone while on duty is not acceptable
Do not hang out with other staff to chat while on duty
Do not leave their position without someone else taking their place as coordinated by
the staffing manager
Avoid loud laughter, inappropriate language or chatting with other staff
Professional body posture at all times (avoid slouching in chairs, standing with arms
crossed, no dancing in hallways, etc.)
