Lecture recital plan:

Stride demonstration:
1. Tris: HH on 2 and 4,
Ben: F major 2 feel bass line (with piano)
Stop
2. Tris: HH on 2 and 4
Ben: F major 4 feel bass line (with piano) Just root to
fifth repeated
Stop
3. Tris and Ben: demonstration of Honeysuckle Rose (keep it
conservative) F major. Twice round the A section only,
then stop.

Blues demonstration:
1. Tris and Ben: Blues in F (Ben walk throughout)
12 bars: Just comping (demonstrate guitar pattern)
Then stop.
2. Tris and Ben: Blues in F
1st 12 bars: Just comping
2nd 12 bars: Ben solo (deliberately play high for a bit, then
low for a bit so piano can demonstrate different comping
ranges)
3rd 12 bars: Piano solo (Tristan emphasise freedom
drummer has to add little extra bits in hits where I comp
and so on)
Stop.

Song form demonstration:


1. Piano solo demonstration of original song
2. Ben and Tris: I get a kick out of you C major. Modern
jazz style -
1st A piano plays head
2nd A Bass solo straight away
B section: trade fours all the way through
A section one more time big rall at the Edim7 A7
Dictated end (will be obvious)
Final demonstration:
Piano solo!
