Scale Removal From Diesel Engine Cooling Systems
Scale Removal From Diesel Engine Cooling Systems
Treatment:
3.) Calculate quantity of Safe Acid required by using 50 kg per ton of cooling water.
4.) This calculated quantity of Safe Acid should be dissolved in warm water before
adding to the system to ensure good mixing. This solution should be less than
10% water.
5.) Drain the expansion tank and add the acidic solution.
8.) Visually examine the scaled areas to assess effectiveness of the initial clean. If
scale is not completely removed repeat steps 1 through 6 above.
9.) Once scale has been removed, drain the system and flush thoroughly with fresh
water.
10.) Neutralize the remaining acid in the system by filling system with fresh water
containing Nalfleet BWT-Alkaline Treatment Liquid. Dose this chemical at 3
gallons per ton of cooling water.
11.) Drain and rinse until the pH of the rinsing water is above pH 7 (neutral).
12.) Refill system with distilled water and recharge system with 4.5% Nalcool 2000.
