Ben Shapiro: Speaker at the University of Oregon

In fall 2017 Benjamin Shapiro, conservative political commentator, will speak at the

University of Oregon. Shapiro will discuss numerous issues along with engaging in dialogue

with the students in a Q&A fashion.

College Career

Ben Shapiro began his career as a conservative political commentator at University of

California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Shapiro graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a

degree in political science in 2004 then graduated three years later from Harvard Law School

with cum laude. Following his graduation he practiced law with Goodwin Procter LLP, a global

law firm.

Career in Media and Law

Shapiro founded The Daily Wire in September 2015 where he is currently editor-in-chief

and hosts his own political podcast, The Ben Shapiro Show. Shapiro was also formerly editor-at-

large at Breitbart however he resigned in March 2016 following the websites lack of support

over assault allegations made by Michelle Fields against former Trump campaign manager,

Corey Lewandownski.

Along with his credentials as a political commentator Shapiro is also an author of several

books including a New York Times bestseller entitled, Bullies: How the Lefts Culture of Fear

and Intimidation Silences Americans. Along with being an accomplished author and reporter he

is also a lawyer with his own independent legal consultancy form, Benjamin Shapiro Legal

Consulting.

Campus Lectures and Involvement

 Shapiros known to conduct lectures all over the country at numerous universities

presenting his view on controversial subjects to large crowds of university students. It is because

of Shapiros conservative beliefs that he encourages diversity of thought amongst students and

has numerous lectures across the country.

Personal Life

Shapiro is an active member in his synagogue where he practices Orthodox Judaism

alongside his wife. Shapiro lives with his wife, daughter and son in Los Angeles.
