The instructions from the pharmacy didnt add up for two of the members medications.

For her diabetes medication, instructions on the bottle said to take one 1,000mg tablet in the
morning and two in the evening for a total of 3,000mg. The directions from the members primary
care provider was a total daily dosage of 2,000mg.

For her heart medication, the bottle from the pharmacy instructed the member to take one 40mg
tablet in the morning and half of a tablet in the evening. The directions from the members primary
care provider were to take two 40mg tablets together, once a day.

The member was following the directions on the bottles. I alerted her primary care provider to the
discrepancies. He agreed to have the member come into his office that day to review all of her
medications.
