All the member wanted was his blood pressure medication. He had just a two-day supply left.

His primary care provider was no longer taking his insurance and would not call in a refill. His
cardiologist insisted he get the medication through his PCP. An appointment with his new PCP was
still two weeks away.

And so here we were. My last visit of the day and everyones office was closed.

I took down all of the members information, including his pharmacy. I told him I would follow up
with his cardiologist in the morning.

Three calls to cardiologists office. Three messages. I called the member a couple of times. He had
not heard anything either.

Then, at 4:30, the member called me. His cardiologist called in a 30-day supply of his medication
with three refills...more than what I had requested.

The member was quite happy and I was feeling good knowing I made a difference.
