the Barangay Dayangdang passed Resolution No.

2014-028 respectfully requesting the Sangguniang Panlungsod of
Naga to enact an ordinance renaming the "Solid Street" to "J.
Soler Street" in honor of the late Janet B. So1er, a
distinguished educator and outstanding City Councilor;
I{HEREAS, the name SOLID STREET has no historical and
cultural significance in the creation of Barangay Dayangdang;
IYHEREAS,prominent leaders in our city who were once
residents of Barangay Dayangdang namely former mayors Hon.
MONICO L. IMPERTAL and HON. VICTORINO L. OJEDA, former
Councilor HON. TEMPORO M. DY and former Barangay Captain of
Dayangdang HON. ABRAHAM M. DY had their names used as street
names in Barangay Dayangdang;

the late HON. JANET B. SOLER, during her tenure

I|IIEREAS,
as City Councilor of Naga, was instrumental in the concreting
of roads and construction of drainages in Baranqay Dayangdang;
VIIEREjAS, the late HON. JANET B. SOLER was also involved
in the establishment of the Naga City Science High School,
Educare Centers and other significant ordinances/resol-utions
during her incumbency;
IISEREjAS, the late HON. JANET B. SOLER was a former
resident of Dayangdang and their residence at Solid Street is
still mai-ntained by her heirs up to the present;
I{HERE;[S, it is also fitting that a street in the Baranqay
Dayangdang be renamed after her, since she is also one of the
prides of Barangay Dayangdang;
WBEREAS, none other than SOLID STREET, DAYANGDANG, NAGA
CITY be officially named after her since she deserved the
honor and accolade of her former neighbors in Dayangdang and
constituents in the City of Naga;
WHEREAS, Section 13, Chapter II of the RA 7160 provides
loca1 government units the power to name streets within their

of the City of NaEa, in session duly assembled, that:
SECAiON 1. *SOLID* STREET' in Barangay Dayangdang is
hereby officj-ally named as "J. SOTER STREET" in honor of the
Late Janet B. Soler, a Distinguished Educator and Outstanding
City Councilor.

effective inunediately upon its approval.
