Open night
Our annual open night will take place on Monday June 12 th this
month. Our junior and senior students will perform a number
of songs under the guidance of our music generation tutors Open night
Leslie and Tracy. Our first ever CD will also be on sale on the June 12th
night for 8. This proceeds will go towards payment of choral
tutors in the school and support is greatly appreciated. Parents 6th class graduation
are also free to take a tour of the classrooms and school and June 26th
take a look of some of the students classwork.

Gemma Hanlon Memorial blitz GAA

Donard N.S. will host the annual Gemma Hanlon GAA blitz on Football training will finish on
June 15th at 11. A number of schools from local areas will travel June 14th before the final blitz of
to take part in the blitz. the year on June 15th.

School reports
School reports will be ready to be sent to parents of all children School Closes

Hip-Hop
Nikki and Fabio from NFC dance studios taught hip-hop dance
to the entire school on Wednesday June 7th. The children
received a taster for dance lessons, learned lots of new dance
and overall it was a great success!

Class groupings
Classes for next year will be as follows Junior and Senior
Infants, 1st class, 2nd and 3rd class, 4th class and 5th and 6th class.

School books 2017/2018

The school have invested in a number of sets of books this year
to extend our book rental scheme and keep the cost of book lists down. Please ensure
that all book bank and art and craft monies are paid to the office before the summer
holidays.
School Tours
Yearly school tours will take place during this month The dates for tours are as follows:
3rd & 4th class June 9th Clara Lara
Junior and Senior Infants June 13th Rancho Reillys
1st and 2nd class June 22nd Lullymore
6th class June 26th Tayto Park
Our parents association has partly funded all tours this year. Also our 6th class have used
some of the funds they have raised in their Junior Entrepreneur projects towards their
school tours.

GAA
The Donard Cl camps will take place from 10th - 14th July

Outdoor Education Centre

5th and 6th class took part in a number of activities in the outdoor activity centre in
Baltinglass such as canoeing, abseiling and orienteering. They held a school fair to raise
funds to pay for the day out on June 8th.

School Uniform
Please ensure that your child/children are in their school uniform every day. FOR
SECURITY REASONS ALL CHILDREN MUST WEAR THEIR SCHOOL UNIFORM ON THEIR
SCHOOL TOUR.

End of year thanks

We finish our school term this year at 12.30 pm on June 27 th. Well done to the entire
school community on a fantastic years work. The children have achieved great things this
year and we are blessed as a community to have such well-behaved, dedicated and
enthusiastic students. As we come towards our final weeks it is appropriate that a
massive thanks goes out to all of our parents who have helped our school flourish and
grow into the beautiful establishment it is. We look forward to starting our new term
which begins on August 30th.

School finishes Tuesday 27th June at 12.30p.m. Buses will run at this time.
