EXPERIMENT : IODINE CLOCK (group :________)

MATERIAL/ / APPARATUS : Potassium iodide beaker 250ml


0.001M Sodium thiosulphate glass rod
Starch stopwatch
1.0M Sulphuric acid spatula
Hydrogen peroxide solution weight
Distilled water measuring cylinder

PROCEDURE: SET 1
SOLUTION A:
1) Weight 7.47 g of potassium iodide into a 250ml beaker.
2) Add 75ml of 0.001M sodium thiosulphate solution into the beaker.
3) Add a spatulaful of starch powder into the mixture.
4) Add distilled water until solution become 150ml.
5) Stir the solution

SOLUTION B:
1) Pour 20ml of 1.0M Sulphuric acid into 250 ml beaker.
2) Add 55ml of distilled water.
3) Add 25ml of Hydrogen peroxide solution into the beaker.
4) 100ml of solution B has been prepared.

SET 2
SOLUTION A:
1) Weight 14.94 g of potassium iodide into a 250ml beaker.
2) Add 75ml of 0.001M sodium thiosulphate solution into the beaker.
3) Add a spatulaful of starch powder into the mixture.
4) Add distilled water until solution become 150ml.
5) Stir the solution

SOLUTION B:
1) Pour 20ml of 1.0M Sulphuric acid into 250 ml beaker.
2) Add 55ml of distilled water.
3) Add 25ml of Hydrogen peroxide solution into the beaker.
4) 100ml of solution B has been prepared.

NEXT...
1) Add solution A to solution B.
2) Stopwatch is start when solution A is half poured and stop when the solution is completely
change.
