Synopsis

The story begins with Claire our female protagonist who is suffering
from cancer and knowing that she wont be able to live no more. At
the start of the play Claire talks about her thoughts of life and
knowing how important life can be important to some people, she
expresses her feelings continuously throughout to show how life is
too short and we should be grateful of what we have and who we
have.
Claire starts to have flashbacks of her past life when everything was
normal and fine where she was having a normal conversation with
her mother over dinner talking about school. Claire then reflects
back to it by talking about how selfish she was not telling her mother
and not acknowledging all the things Claires mother did for her as
soon as she found out about her leukaemia. She then carries on
talking about how her mother always used to work extra hours just
to earn enough money for Claires treatment also taking off days of
work just to attend her appointments. Claires mum continuously
crying because of the fact she didnt know what to do and how to
cope and Claire reflects back to it in her head saying that shell
always appreciate what she did and will always love her.
Claire has another flashback with her close friend Isabel where they
are in the park on the swings and complaining about how who can
swing higher which Isabel starts off with however Claire reflects back
to it saying how she is better than Isabel in any competitions they
have together, reminding her who won the most marshmallows in
ten second challenge but Isabel argues back saying she had braces at
the time and she would definitely win this time round.
On the present day in her room Claire mirrors back to the moment
and talks about how Isabel was such a great friend to her and how
she was with her through everything, helping her on the first day of
secondary school to look for here first date. But on the bright side
she couldnt wait for the next day to come because she finally gets to
see her new niece.
Claire continues to write until her eyelids close she reaches over the
desk and tries to put the letter down and the pen however the pen
drops from her hand and hits the floor. The heart monitor starts to
go flat and you can hear it in the background.
