ABSTRACT

Facile and efficient polyol method has were employed for synthesis of iron selenide and cobalt
selenide nano particles. The size of these selenide particles have studied by SEM and TEM and
also by XRD. Further nickel selenium nano particles were tested for its reductive catalytic
activity using PNA(para-nitroaniline)to PPD(para-phenyl diamine)using sodium borohydride as a
reducing agent. Particle size and morphology play a crucial role in reduction process. Iron
selenide and cobalt selenide nano particles were studied for its metallic properties.
