General grading rubric for each problem on the exam

Points Criteria
10 points All work is shown, legible, and correct.
9 points All work is shown, legible, and correct except for one arithmetic error at the
end of the problem or final answer is not fully simplified.
6 to 8 points Students work demonstrates some understanding of the unit but contains
several arithmetic errors.
3 to 5 points Students work demonstrates little understanding of the unit but student is
persistent in finishing the problem.
1 to 2 points Student attempted but did not complete the problem, writing very few lines.
Work contains at least one correct step.
0 points Student left the problem blank or student had the correct answer but did not
show work.
